I was listening to WFAN this morning and Boomer Esiason said that he thinks the Browns and will select Josh Allen Because he matches what Todd Haley is looking for in a QB (big arm, Rothlesberger style).

He also said that he thinks the Giants can not afford to not go QB and will select Sam Darnold. Gives Pat Shumer the young QB to groom behind Manning for one year. Eli Manning is due 23 million next year and ODB’s contract is going to be too huge of a deal to have both players. That would be about 40-50 million tied up in two positions.

He then said that he thinks the Jets will pick Mayfield at #3. He didn’t go into much detail as to why other than he felt they were a good match.

The Giants picking a QB is not being discussed much. The Bills might even have to give up a prime pick to trade up for Lamar Jackson (if they think he's a potential franchise QB) so that the Cardinals don’t jump ahead of them.

If this is what unfolds, highly unlikely in my opinion, then the Bills go hard after the fourth pick and take Rosen before someone else grabs him.

Why take Jackson we just had Tyrod, sorry same run first QB that is not a pocket QB.

Jackson has his flaws but he is not a "run first" QB.  At all.

I think Josh Allen has a great chance at dropping, same goes for Baker Mayfield. I don't think 4 QBs go top 10, I just don't. I could see 3, but I highly doubt all 4 go.

The Giants need a QB probably for next year but they don't need another QB mess this year so their best bet would be one who they could sit and 'coach up' for a year without fans screaming to play the new guy. The best fit for that role is Allen if they think his flaws can be corrected. But choosing a bench-warming project at number 2 is not a smart move. The better option would be to trade down for a couple more picks. I don't think they can safely drop below the 6th pick, so if the Bills want that second pick, they need to get to the 6th.

Have you ever watched Lamar Jackson play

if so I’m confused at what you saw. I don’t think they are going to take Lamar. But it’s not because he is just like Tyrod. I don’t see this comparison. They are both fast. That’s it.

I've watched him play and he does do a lot of the same things that made Taylor so frustrating to watch. He has poor field vision, takes off running instead of trying to make a play passing and he has trouble reading defense's. I would be surprised if the Bills had him rated as a 1st rd pick.

If a QB needs 2 years to be ready they have no business being drafted i the 1st rd IMO

I think that’s true for any position, and there’s especially no way in hell I would trade up for one. Save the major projects for Day 3.

If QBs go 1/2/3, i could see it, but if barkley sneaks in it'll change things.

If the QBs go 1/2/3, this means most relevantly for the Bills, that the best LB, the best OL player, and even the best WR are still available.  Given that quite frankly all the QBs are gonna need some work before they are ready to start, I'm loving a run on QBs as it makes it more likely we are gonna get 2 or 3 first day starters at other positions.

Will we still need a franchise QB if we ever hope to win the SB?

Yep!

However, we also will NEED a quality TEAM for this franchise QB to nlead to an SB.  I still prefer the Pitts method of building a TEAM that they then drafted BigBen to win the SB rather than draft your alleged franchise QB first and then rush Rosen, Darnold or whoever to btry to lead a very old Bills squad with significant holes to SB glory.

This is what is great about this draft...

Totally possible those are the first 3 picks.  Its also totally possible Cle and Giants dont go QB and Jets are first QB taken, followed by a QB at 4 by Cleveland.

This has been the most interesting and exciting offseason in a long time.

One of the things that Beane always eludes to in the sort of DNA that he looks for is that they are a "competitor".   If there is a knock on Rosen, it's that he is perceived to not be that much of a competitor.

By the way, Rosen and Mayfield are my two favorites and from my untrained eye would be the ones that I hope we get.  But the comments from Beane is something to consider.  Maybe they aren't all that high on Rosen.  Who knows?

They also talk about "availability."   Rosen is one concussion away from perhaps not playing.  That is what worries me.  My two favs. are Mayfield and Rosen, in that order.

If we take Allen, blah.

If the Giants go QB the Jets gave up way to much to move up three spots and get the third QB on the board.

So true.  That will provide instant comedic value.  Then we draft a QB at 12 who is better than whomever the Jets draft.  Even better!

Sorry, but I think you're wrong. Almost everything I've been reading and hearing over the last two weeks has been predicting the Giants will be picking Barkley at #2. It seemed like on this board, it was a given the Giants were drafting Barkley.
