MAJBobby Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 AJ McCarron at 5M AVV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Giving assets up for Foles. 5

No one is saying he/she will stop cheering for the Bills if they overpay for a player. Again what we're saying is that if you can get a guy for a good deal, it allows you to get more players. No, it's really 2 years for $10M, worth up to $16.5 if AJM starts every game the next 2 years. I doubt that’s the incentive... I’ll bet it’s tied to percentage of snaps and the sliding scale likely gets him there far lower than 100% not a big deal but just the more likely structure
transplantbillsfan Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Just curious... are certain posters (*ahem* ) complaining that we are bringing in another team's backup to start for us again and how it's groundhog day? I kid... I kid... love all around today
vincec Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 McCarron may not even beat out Peterman, let alone a #2 or #3 overall selected QB (assum8ng the Bills get one). This acquisition accomplishes very little, IMO.

Let me try it another way: if AJ McCarron takes the Bills to the SB this season, is anyone really going to give a crap what the team paid for him? Even if the team went over the cap? No. In fact, hell no. If AJ McCarron ends up leading the BIlls to a 1-15 record, is anyone going to stand around saying "Well, that sucked but at least we're under the cap because we got him for a bargain!"? No. They'll be too busy burning his jersey. The idea of judging a player, in part, based on what someone else paid for him is ridiculous. I totally get what you are saying but you are not understanding what everyone else is saying or you choose not too. Overpaying consistently for people lands you in cap hell. Yeah the Eagles were lucky to win that SB, but thats the exception rather than the norm. When was the last time the cheatriots were in Cap Hell......how many shiny silver things do they have. Bottom line, yeah individually it really doesn't make a difference but a million here a million there and all of a sudden you have to start cutting good players and then the slide starts......
MAJBobby Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) This is nothing more than a BU contract for a BU QB. Perfect signing. Not like like regime giving a 90M LTD to a BU QB when he still had a Cheap BU QB year left on contract Edited March 15, 2018 by MAJBobby 1

Nothing new about that. I'm done talking about Foles. Hey, they might not even need Wentz. They should just play Sudfeld. 1 minute ago, NoSaint said: I doubt that’s the incentive... If it had said "playing time and performance incentives" that would be different. But no biggee either way.
Scott7975 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Where is SaviorPeterman with his inside sources at his high level business meetings saying the Bills were all in on Peterman?
1st&ten Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Watching his highlights on Youtube, it looks like he throws a nice spiral & some accurate passes.

The guy has barely played, spent 4 seasons holding a chip board and he gonna make $10 million! What a great freakin job being an NFL backup! The guy is gonna make more than Shady and he’s been the entire offense for several years! McCoy should demand a raise.

At best, maybe he is a hidden gem. Much more upside than TJ Yates or Matt Cassel. Even if he doesn't start, I think it's good signing. 1

You making up impossible stuff and claiming that it’s just as probable as realistic options? Yeah, actually I see that everyday in the alternative news media so I’m very familiar with it.

Very few things are better than being a backup qb. And rbs are treated like old pornstars. 1
