switz1610 Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 The scenario is the Bills trade up to #1 ASAP. Once there let the league know that your plan is to draft Barkley and that you're willing to trade him for the best offer. Similar to what the Chargers did in the Eli/Rivers trade. It would, hopefully, allow you to control the rest of the first round and recoup some of the picks made to move up. 1

It will cost you more to get up there then you will ever recoup from a Barkley trade. The NFL is not Madden where you can force trades. C'mon man. Edited March 14, 2018 by Zebrastripes 1
JoeF Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Brilliant idea. Spend all the draft capital it takes to get to #1 and then take less to move down again and unless its #2 maybe miss out on the QB you want. I love it. Why wouldn't the team that wants Barkley get to #1 on their own. The Browns and Dorsey are too smart to make us their broker.
Buffalo Bills Fan Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 We do not need a RB. You want Nathan Peterman starting for the whole year?
Bangarang Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 I’m concerned that the OP thought this was a good idea 2 3
ddaryl Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 If we moved up with the sole purpose of fleecing as much compensation we could we would hold the NFL title as "Dick Franchise" till the next dick move made another... Not to mention there is no way we could possibly recoup what it would take to mlve up and if some team was to offer a plethora of picks then wouldnt they just go directly to Cleveland and bypass us?
GrizzReaper Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 That whole scenario is so far fetched and rediculous. This thread is destined to be a good 5 pages of similar rediculous replies. I did my part...

EmotionallyUnstable Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Drafting a rookie is like buying a new car. As soon as it leaves the lot, it depreciates in value.

BobChalmers Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 The only Barkley play for the Bills is 1. Draft Barkley 2. Trade Shady back to the Eagles for Foles. This would be great for everyone - but the Browns who don't get Barkley.

switz1610 Posted March 14, 2018 Author Posted March 14, 2018 (edited) Let me break this down into two statements that if you agree with than my scenario and logic make sense. 1) Securing a top 3 QB is the Bills most important objective in the draft. 2) Saquan Barkley is the best player in the draft, a generational talent. Let's just say the Bills have to give up #12, #22, #56, and #65, how are the following scenarios not a win: Giants: Bills get #2, #34, Giants get Barkley. Both teams give up less than they have to and both get their guy. Colts: Bills get #3, #36, late round pick, Colts get Barkley. Bills get a top 2 QB, Colts get their guy for less. Browns: Bills get #4, #35, #65 back, Browns get Barkley, #96. Browns gain picks, Bills secure a top 3 QB and get some picks back. Edited March 14, 2018 by switz1610

Why would a team draft their franchise QB and then trade it for a RB? Think things through. 5 minutes ago, BobChalmers said: The only Barkley play for the Bills is 1. Draft Barkley 2. FearLess Price Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 If the NFL gms call the Bills bluff were stuck with barkley and 5pickpetermen for a year. Gross.
