JOSH HUFF Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Separating the QB's from completion percentage and TD's to INT's: Baker Mayfield is the best followed by Luke Falk then Sam Darnold. Luke Falk is might be the surprise of this draft! Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen have not so good completion percentages, especially the first two mentioned. So called second tier QB's Falk, White, Rudolph look good! Yes, systems do play a part along with schedule. With that said, only White played against lesser competion. With that said, only White played against lesser competion Completion percentage is a huge part of determining success at the next level. However, you have to take into consideration certain factors like dropped passes for example. Both Jackson and Rosen had a ton of dropped passes for them. Like you said systems play a huge part in college QBs sucessfulness. Bottom line is if it were as simple as looking at completion percentages, tds, and picks then there would never be a bust in the NFL. It's just not that simple and so many more factors go into scouting QBs.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 How many teams did they buy to play them to get “easy” wins? What is the true strength of their competition? Meaning we’re they in a soft conference. Did they run and face NFL offenses? or was it all sandlot football?
JOSH HUFF Posted March 13, 2018 Author Posted March 13, 2018 ShadyBillsFan, Obviously, they didn't play USC, Washington or Alabama. Typically these colleges have more talented players across the board than lets say, Maine, Charlotte and UTEP, Genius.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I am a genius obviously. Why so serious?
BullBuchanan Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 How Mayfield isn't the consensus #1 blows my mind. Best QB by a mile on the eye test, in a different area code on the stat sheet, and won the big games. He'd probably be a national champion if his coach called a single passing play in 3 overtimes.
