BuffaloBillyG Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Sticker shock is there, but if you look deeper there are a lot of low cost outs for the Bills. If he plays up to the contract he will make some big bucks. If he doesn't he will be gone in 2 seasons with little penalty to the Bills. I like it. 1
BillsFan4 Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Not a bad deal. About what I expected. All that really matters is the guaranteed money anyway.
26CornerBlitz Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 The Bills clearly structured Star Lotulelei's deal to take advantage of their more advantageous salary-cap situation in 2019. His salary-cap number is a manageable $6.7 million in 2018 before ballooning to $11.5 million in 2019. He then counts $10.1 million in 2020, $10.85 million in 2021 and $10.85 million in 2022. buffaloboyinATL Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 He WILL make this Defense better. Worth it.
HappyDays Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 It's a couple million more per year than I would have paid but I'm not gonna complain about $2 million. He's still cheaper than Dareus and will be worth a lot more to the team. 1
Captain Murica Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I’m fine with the structure. For the next few years our QB contracts will be cheap, so to boost our run defense that struggled a lot last season it’s worth it.

DJB Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 It initially looks really expensive but its definitely a 3 year deal to me. 1
Blokestradamus Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Paying the man like Snacks, he'd better play like him.

ghostwriter Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Beats the hell out of some of these 100 million dollar contracts these other DTs are getting. I think he is going to be a good player for us. Hopefully the incentive laden deal lights a fire under his ass and to be honest, the salary cap is going to continue to rise, he won't really be getting paid that much in comparison to some of the upper echelon elite guys in a few years. It's a fair contract, if he doesn't quite live up to it, we can always restructure the deal slightly.
