Fans suggesting he got between 5-7 is highly unlikely, he probably would have taken a 1-2 year prove it deal if that were the case. He probably got between 8-10. Better young players are on the rise for less money. I will leave it, whats done is done and time will prove me right or wrong. I sincerely hope I am wrong. I think he got signed because he fills a need. What's wrong with signing someone they know? It happens in every type of industry. Why is it a bad idea bringing on someone you know? So they struck out with Tolbert, they've also had successes in which you want to ignore because you want to be unhappy with Star.

Doc
I remember when people were panning the Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, EJ Gaines, and Ramon Humber moves. Again, trust the process, at least on defense.
Mike in Syracuse
Based on the response of some here, Star is so bad the competition likely won't bother to block him. LOL

That is not true, I have been behind almost every move they have made so far. I was just hoping that the Star to Buffalo rumors weren't true, and yes I guess I trust their judgment less concerning Panthers players. I am not unhappy and I hope it works out. Less than thrilled is probably more accurate.
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower
Star is a nose tackle, his job is to tie up 2 men and let the LBs roam free to make plays. Run Stop %? How the hell do you hold him negatively accountable for the system and role. I trust these guys know a hell of a lot more than PFF.

Captain Murica
I'm guessing he signed for about 5 years 33.5-35 million? Curious as to what the details are. I wouldn't be surprised if it was for 30 million over 5 years.

MAJBobby
This contract has to be something the Agent just wants to slip in when not everyone it watching. Have a feeling this is going to be a very good Team Friendly Contract.

Out of 36 fa dts he was ranked 31st . 6 tackles in 16 games. How much are you willing to pay for that? He does have a cool name though, and he was a Panther. The same guys who loved Tolbert? everything I've seen says in His rookie year he finished 2nd in the NFL among all defensive tackles in run stop percentage and was ranked 6th best defensive tackle against the run by PFF . https://www.footballoutsiders.com/index.php?q=stat-analysis/2014/run-stop-rates-2013 https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/2013-pff-defensive-rookie-of-the-year Carolina's defense went from 14th against the run the year before, to 2nd in the NFL against the run in his rookie year. (110yds per game in 2012 to 86yds per game in 13). They finished 1st in the NFL in sacks, too He also finished 4th in AP defensive rookie of the year voting. Turk71
^^^^^^^His rookie year he was tremendous. He went from top to the bottom in that metric the next four years steadily declining. Kawan Short has been dominant next to him and that is who Car gave the extension to. Hey, he is a Bill now and I hope they can bring the best out of him. They know him and like him. He played for McD and his play was excellent. His stats dropped off last season, which was the one season he didn't play for McD. He must like McD to have decided to come to Buffalo. He's first round talent, and there's no substitute for talent. Linemen tend to last a long time, so he could be a fixture for five years or more. I like your thoughts!! And agree!!
auburnbillsbacker
I trust the Bills when it comes to defensive players they draft or sign. After the Peterman start I no longer have complete faith in their ability to evaluate the QB position.
