Hated the Sammy deal but in general he's been more shrewd than to pay that for a run plugger who is questionable enough that people are split on him..........he's no Snax. It's not a disaster if they overpaid because they have absurd cap room next offseason but I don't even want to see that overpaying start for guys that aren't impact players.
IgotBILLStopay Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Here is an oldie on Bills signing Lotuleilei. Time will tell. http://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/22/nfl-free-agency-buffalo-bills-star-lotulelei-panthers-draft/ I am more optimistic about Star. Star did have a different DC than McD last year.

I do have some reservations of his verifiable more obvious production but maybe on tape he is worth that. If he indeed is a constant force at the point of attack and he is able to help collapse the pocket then he'd be worth that. If he is just a run plugger than the value I guessed I think would be more in line. I'm not overly excited for the player but I'm going to give the guys in charge the benefit of doubt. I would have preferred a guy that can get upfield but if they think he can play well in the role they put him then I expect upgrades at LB and an improved front 7.

He was being discussed at $10M per by Carolina, that's the range he appears to have been looking for. If it's closer to $7-$8 they got a good deal, but I'm betting its higher.

I think this is a good guess. League is de-valuing DT's who don't get sacks. McDermott knows him better than anyone except his old team. His old team has other DT's they value higher. I don't think he's getting more than that.
Blokestradamus Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 His brother-in-law is Fuifui Moimoi, one of my favourite rugby league names of all time.

Numark3 Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 My guess is five years, 47.5 million, 23 million guaranteed.

You don't want to have to buy your lead PassRusher/LT/WR/CB in FA nowadays..........THAT is why you draft BPA at THOSE positions early and not positions like RB/DT/LB(unless it's generational talent you are bypassing). TigerJ Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Nobody knows him better than Beane and McDermott. If they signed him for 5 years, they must believe he has plenty left in the tank.
N.Y. Orangeman Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 The thing I love most about this signing: Star has only missed 4 games in five years. 1

BillsFan4 Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Anxious to see the contract terms. He definitely fills a big need, and has been extremely reliable in his career so far (only 2 games missed in 5 years IIRC). Seems like a good signing.

billsbackto81 Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Ugh....... Hope it's no more than 10 mil per. Not impressed with this guy, is he bringing Short and Kuchley with him?
Canadian Bills Fan Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I feel like it will work out to about $8.5M a year
