What is the deal? Am yet to see the numbers. I can live with 5 years and about 50 mill with about half guaranteed. If it gets to be more than 60 mill, I dont want him.

I'll pass the message along.

I don't think you'll have a choice

There is a potential super-beast 3T available in David Irving who is a RFA with Dallas that they reportedly may be willing to let go for a second round tender.   7 sacks in half a season last year.   6'7' and 280#.

Perfect fit to keep a QB from stepping up in the pocket because of both pass rush and the height/length to force QB's to throw from further back.

*Could* trade pick #65 for him in the next couple days and then slap a second round designation on him for less than $3M.   Perhaps not a process guy, I don't know......but the physical perfect fit for a team trying to stop Tom Brady....... and Dallas won't be able to afford two $16M+ DL next year........the Bills have no such issue.

I'd offer Pick 96 for him--bonus: he doesn't count against the comp pick formula

Hughes is a very good player, if we drafted Kalil Mack instead of Sammy like I wanted to Hughes would have 10 sacks a season easily. Last year Hughes had zero help on the D-Line and still got pressures. I want no part of trading a pass rusher like Hughes, he will be very good for 3 or 4 more seasons.

I love Hughes and I live in the Bay area. I thought Mack was the best player in the draft and I would trade 2 first round picks for him today.

Sal needs to dial back on the meds. I feel like someone is telling him to be Mr. Happy Homer all the time and it's wearing thin. Then again, maybe the millennial/fan boy types want that and surface level reporting.

Yeah it's giddy nonsense to envision Star Lotulelei as significantly changing the dynamic of your pass rush.

Mack is a free agent next offseason.

Just putting it out there.

No contract details released yet. Which can sometimes mean it’s not a ton. Typically agents want the terms out there ASAP if it’s big money. But we will see.

Star certainly seems like a "fit matters" guy, I could see him taking less money than would typically go to a day 1 FA if he believed the culture fit was right.

What's everyone's guess to how much he will get?

I'm guessing 5 year $38M with $20M guaranteed.

I'm going to say $47.5M total with $25M gtd

I could see that and I'm most likely low balling it.  I do have some reservations of his verifiable more obvious production but maybe on tape he is worth that.  If he indeed is a constant force at the point of attack and he is able to help collapse the pocket then he'd be worth that.  If he is just a run plugger than the value I guessed I think would be more in line.
