BringBackOrton Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Hahahah is this the first 100% poll in TBD history? 1
gobills1212 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) So a dupe Glenn post.... But with a poll:) Oddly, I'm shocked Bengals fans love this as much as they do. They don't seem to mind the $$, the injury, or oddest of all moving down. In fact, the like it because they were worried about reaching at 12. Man does that seem backwards. Shame they don't have any other higher picks:) Edited March 12, 2018 by gobills1212
aceman_16 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) We essentially got a mid 2nd round pick for him AND dropped his salary. The amount of money we will have in free agency is SICK! PS and it helps us move up in the draft to grab our future QB. Edited March 12, 2018 by aceman_16

And so they got 2nd round pick for a way-overpriced, often-hurt, pretty good player. I'm OK with that. Especially if it was a pretty good player who wasn't going to be on the team next year anyway. A second for Glenn, and the first third for Taylor. Yeah, I'm OK with that.

This trade will be hard for even the negative nancy crew to dislike. Like I posted, the move is good because his huuuuuuge salary made him expandable since his replacement played well - and who knows if he'll play like before given his injuries. Just trading a proven starter for a pick would be bad. But salary caps, years left on contract, injuries, etc. so many factors to consider. I voted yes because of that.

swnybillsfan Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 i like glenn quite a bit. but i will LOVE it if we can grab one o' them there franchise QBs!
HansLanda Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 What's not to like? It's a clear indication this front office is going to get a QB in a seemingly QB-rich draft. They are also gutting the roster of bloated Whaley contracts.

For example, Texans gave up 2017 25th pick and 2018 1st round pick to Cleveland for pick 12 last year. We gave up 21 and Glenn.
McNubbins Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I love it. We don't need him. Got a good return for him. We save almost 5 mill towards the 2018 cap. What's not to love?
SouthNYfan Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I only like it if we package #12 and continue to move up to get a top QB Sitting at #12 means that at 4 QBs most likely will go before we pick, if the reports are true about Cousins to Minny, and Miami wanting Mayfield. (Browns, Denver, Jets are almost certainly in, and Miami might go Mayfield if he's available) That's really bad if we just made that trade to not get any of the top4

PromoTheRobot Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Do I like the trade? I can cut glass with my nipples right now. 2 3

A simple use of the Google machine tells a pretty accurate story. Dude gets paid a ton, is a bit of a reclamation project, and 12 to 21 is HUGE. No funny business, I kinda feel for em. To rationalize that 12 was too high a pick... that must mean they have been through the ringer. That can't be fun. That is some serious abuse
Blokestradamus Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 It's a good move for the ambitions of the team. It represents good value for the player. They still have to nail the next trade, the QB pick and find a long term answer at RT for me to be overjoyed at it. Cordy has been one of my favourites since his rookie year, I'm sad to see him go. Hard worker, heart of a warrior, never caused a second of trouble, high calibre individual on and off the field. 4

Need #1 is a Franchise QB. LT is high on the list but we have a proven replacement. High cap figure makes it even easier. Anything to get the QB. Well done!
FearLess Price Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Its a good trade for what we needed. As long as we grab a solid OT/OG in FA and then another in the draft we should be good. Beane can hustle for picks now hes jut gotta make the right ones.
