Hughes has been good for the Bills, but if he needs to go to fit into the emerging Plan For the Future, so be it.

He probably won't be a contributor when the QB we are going to take arrives anyway.

In the past three days, the #Bills have traded the two biggest cap hits on their team in QB Tyrod Taylor and LT Cordy Glenn. The biggest cap hit now belongs to DE Jerry Hughes, at $10.4 million. It's worth pointing out Brandon Beane didn't sign Hughes to that contract.

#12, Hughes to Indy for the #3 overall pick in the draft.

Did he play last year?  Good riddance

Exactly.  I haven't noticed him in 2 years.  Scratch that, I notice him when he's getting 15 yard penalties.

Cut or trade the close to thirty year old defensive end who has averaged 5 sacks a year over the last three seasons while earning the third highest paycheck on the team.  Yeah I think Id be ok with that, and honestly Ive expected it.

I want to move up to the 2nd pick.  As long as Cleveland takes Barkley as I expect (my opinion), I want the top QB Buffalo Covets.  No 2nd best.

Moral of the story about the Beane regime:

He covets culture, draft assets and cap flexibility and no one is safe in his pursuit of that.

I'd rather they send Lawson packing. Like sooner rather than later.

Lawson at most would garner at 4th rounder, most likely a 5th.

It would a move to get salary off of the books primarily.  If we find a gem in the 4th or 5th it is a bonus.

I know a lot of people are speculating on Hughes but I can’t see how he goes. The Bills pass rush was already atrocious. They can’t let their best pass rusher go (especially when pass rush is so weak in the draft). They will need to add a top guy in 2019 whether Hughes is back or not.

Are we going to play 8-man football?

We need some bodies coming in to plug the openings we're creating...

I didn’t know we weren’t allowed to participate in free agency and the draft this year.

Thanks for letting me know.

McBeane has done nearly everything to undue what Whaley did in his years here. Hughes is most definitely high on the list to go soon. If he’s needed to complete a trade up into the top three, so be it.

I could see a trade to Arizona or Indy as teams switching to a 4-3. I could also see Mike Pettine banging the table for him on his defense in Green Bay. I think he should stay.
