Sign Nate Solder to play LT, move Dawkins to RT, draft Billy Price to play G in the second round. Offensive line: fixed. We got 40 million in cap space, we can move to #2 and draft the best QB in the class and still have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 2 5ths on top of that.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 ...McBeane still must prove himself to be better than Buddy Nix or the "re-tired" Marv as a viable GM IMO.....

And I don't hold it against him to want to avoid Cleveland. Even if they said something Rosen probably would have great doubt as to whether the Bills were even capable of moving into a position to get him. Kind of like winning Powerball. You don't need to tell friends, neighbors, relatives, etc. to get lost over money until it actually happens. That aside I am sure many players have had "meh" attitudes as to places they did not want to play in but never gave serious thought about. Many guys probably think that GB has little to offer in terms of night life versus thinking about a town that has several championships when the Packers get mentioned.

sven233 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I'm loving all of these trades and I do believe on some level that we are not done climbing the board. The only way they could completely sour me on everything at this point is if they trade up again to a top pick, do all this work, and them draft Josh Allen. The air would completely come out of the balloon at that point. To me, ever since they made the trade down last year, this past season and this draft is about 1 thing......doing WHATEVER IT TAKES for Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. We're halfway there now. Time for the Bills to finish the job and get one of those guys.

QuoteTheRaven83 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Is it weird that everybody in the media thinks/knows the Bills are infatuated with Rosen? Beane doesnt seem like the type that would show all his cards like that. I don't think Rosen's the play at all. I think it's Darnold. Just a hunch.

PrimeTime101 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 we can easy trade with Giants with our 2 first rounders now

If Cousins signs with Buffalo, they could draft the best LB at 12 and a top DT at 22. On the other hand they could plug all the holes on the roster in FA during the draft get the top QB they covet and still have 4 or 5 picks in the top 3 rounds. Beane is looking like a stud. The Bills are not signing Cousins - can't spell it out any more simply. He will cost a king's ransom.

I still think it's Darnold. Darnold is the type of rare talent you take #1.

My take is they are moving up the board in 2 steps to get their QB ala the eagles in 2016 when they snagged Wentz. My take on FA QB is a McCown, Moore, Henne signing to be the sage to the youngster. Rosen or Mayfield are likely to play early on in 2018. I agree with you. I was just spitballing. I don't think you make this move unless there's someone you really want, and if there's someone you really want you can't sit at 12 and hope he's falling to you. I think the Bills will be moving again, but the next move might not be until sometime within 48 hours of the draft. Beane is fearless. And I assume McDermott is on board with him. It's amazing to watch.

We got him with a 2nd, overall paid him way less then he was wroth (rookie contract) and then got a great deal trading him away. Got him with a 41 pick, had him through a rookie contract plus a couple years trade him for a 51 pick when his health is becoming a ? and his cap hit would be 13 million next year. That is pretty good value. Getting good production from guys on rookie contracts is key to managing the cap and stud linemen can contribute right away usually. Draft a tackle in first two rounds and get younger. 1

If you're getting Cousins, you want to add a lot of talent, not one guy at pick number 12. Not necessarily. Supposedly we've been trying to trade Glenn for a year now. If we had traded a pick to move up that would signify we are trying to trade up for a QB, but it might just be they got a good offer for Glenn and couldn't turn it down regardless of what their plans were. 1
