I think 53 and 65 could get it done. I would part with 22 and 158 if I had to. Still much cheaper than trading up for Rosen or whoever else. Not if Foles reverts back to his normal play

That thinking skill is very valuable. It may be the MOST valuable. One could argue it is the quality that Bills QBs ( since JK) have lacked . They've had QBs with arm talent , mobility etc. That internal clock and processor makes the difference between an elite QB and another Rob Johnson. Foles is not elite , but the guy can play. Just say no to journeymen Exactly. If the Bills made this trade it would not be for a bridge. They would be committed. It is this or try to trade up, not both. I am not in favor of writing in Foles as the Bills QB for the next five years. Wrong answer.
Domdab99 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Here's the question: What would you have given up to bring Foles in a year ago? A 2nd rounder? a 6th rounder? A one year vet minimum contract? What has changed in that time? Is he a different QB now? Did he suddenly "get it?" Or did he simply have a great 4-game stretch with a loaded team and a great coach? Why do so many of you want to buy high all of the time? 1

It's as simple as that. I'd rather sign a UFA QB and keep my 2nd and 3rd. Actually I think Foles could be the long term answer, but as I think about it I think you're right about signing a free agent QB instead. Bridgewater or Kewnum or Bradford could be as good a solution and won't cost draft capital. 1 hour ago, 26CornerBlitz said: Edited March 10, 2018 by Shaw66

Domdab99 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Another question is, do you think Foles is demonstrably better than Keenum/Bridgewater/Bradford/Moore/McCarron/etc.? If he is, then is he worth the two 2nd round picks or more - it'll cost to trade for him? In other words, why pay a premium in draft picks for Foles when you can pick up one of the other FA QBs and not give up any picks to do so? 2

Bridgewater or Kewnum or Bradford could be as good a solution and won't cost draft capital. Keenum is going to go for the best money. He has been in the NFL for 8 seasons and has only made 7 million total. Spotrac has his value at 20 million per year. Don't see the Bills pursuing that. Bridgewater probably has to sign a "prove you are healthy" contract. I can see the Bill's being interested in that. Let's see if he comes to Buffalo for an early visit. Bradford. Yeesh. Do teams think he is a "long term" answer anymore? If so, I don't see the Bills being interested. If he falls into the second tier because of "availability" issue, Beane could be interested with a short term contract. If Beane gets a Rosen/Mayfield (if those are his possible guys) AND can get Foles.............. Maybe if Beane is as good as we hope he is..............he could trade off Foles after we don't need him anymore to get back some of the draft capital we used to get him.
