MikeSpeed Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I couldn't for the life if me figure out why the Browns would make this trade. Then I got to thinking, maybe there is a wink wink nudge nudge deal in place to have us trade up for their 4 pick. In that scenario they could recoup that pick (plus others) and have their bridge QB. Just a thought.
MrEpsYtown Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Tyrod and Todd Haley seems like a very strange fit, but I do hope Tyrod does well. Haley is an aggressive guy who by all accounts is difficult to get along with. Tyrod seems very laid back and chill, but very professional. I don't think he is going to like having Haley in his face. I don't see this going well.

ALF Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I did not like the high cost of trading up for Sammy, Browns giving us #65 pick and taking Taylor's salary all is well again.
FLFan Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Just have to say it - loving this new Bills regime. They have a plan and are not afraid to execute it. This is what front office competence looks like. It's been a while. Here's hoping they get the next part right and pick the right QB, whether trade, free agency, or draft.

Mojo44 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 At this point and at this moment I don’t even care what the rest of the plan is. Whether it be trade up, Foles, Mccarron or whoever ....... Shedding ourselves of this albatross quarterback is the best news of the off-season! Thank you Mr. Beane. The Tyrod Taylor debacle is finally over! 1

Yes he sucks, but he plays the worst against the AFC North. Ravens, Bengals, and Steelers have all owned him. This, Todd Haley will have him riding the bench by midseason.

Ayjent Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 11 hours ago, transplantbillsfan said: Ya know... this might make some sense now. Remember, one of his biggest problems in Washington supposedly was that he sat behind a QB the team committed to and "built around," but he never saw that same commitment. The Bills could potentially go up to him and say, "look, we have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds of this draft and 10 picks in the first 5 rounds, we're going to surround you with young talent for YEARS!!!" I could actually now see us getting into the Cousins sweepstakes. I don't think so. That would be dumb and the Bills have far less talent at WR and TE than Washington. And that's not saying much because Washington outside of Jordan Reed isn't very talented. Gruden is a good coach for Washington's Offense though and if you look you'll notice that Cousins didn't really do much before he became coach. Cousins also still regresses to some dumb decision-making that lesser coaches may not be able to mask as much. They only franchised Cousins because they didn't have a better option available and didn't want to pay him what he thought he was worth. And Washington isn't cheap by any means. This isn't Drew Brees 2.0, this is the makings of some team thinking they are getting a franchise QB to be sorely disappointed - unless they have some really good Offensive coaching.

Baker Mayfield will be a top 5 pick. I think we will need to trade up into the top 3 to even have a chance at him.
The Now Moment Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I remember fans on here saying Tyrod couldn't get anything in a trade and I got roasted for even thinking we'd be able to trade him. That crow tasts pretty good doesn't it haha
bigduke6 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 (edited) imo a 3rd for Tyrod is a steal for us. People point out his stats, but as a fan who watched him for 3 years, i saw what his stats amounted too. Media/fans say we as fans dont know what we had, we saw enough. Wish him the best, time to move on. Edited March 10, 2018 by bigduke6
TuelTime Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 This is a win-win for the Browns and Bills. Tyrod will will flourish with Gordon, Landry and Saquon Barkley, and will probably end their playoff drought. I'll definitely be rooting for Tyrod and the Browns this year. 2
eball Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 The rare trade that is good and makes sense for both teams. Thanks for your service, Tyrod, and great job, Beane! 2
TaskerTough Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I'm happy with the haul and I'm very excited to go get our guy... The NFL Draft is watched by Super Bowl numbers in WNY - this one is gonna break records. As much as this is a win, I also think it is a high risk move. Presumably, we're going to scoop a cheap FA (I hope it's Teddy). So, if the rook stumbles and we're relying on Matt Moore, I'll be pretty bummed we dumped a proven commodity for cash and a 3rd.
nucci Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 2 hours ago, Foxx said: unbelievable. a win-win for all concerned. we get to move on from a qb who is ultra conservative and has many qb 'issues'. Tyrod couldn't have landed in a better scenario, Hue will get the most out of him. still can't believe we got the last pick of the second round for him though. now we just need to go get our guy in the draft and i will be ecstatic. it might not be the best, but it is certainly up there with the best. I agree...great trade....getting 1st pick in 3rd round for a QB we were not going to keep...
Radar Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 For you fans rejoicing I sincerely hope you're not pinning your hopes on Nate. I'm not convinced he's as good as Tyrod is and that's not making Tyrod that high on my list just realistic assessment of good I think Nate is. So, we either go out and get a vet or move up in draft. If it's the latter we may very well take a step back for a year. Not sure I want to give up our first round picks plus for a quarterback when this team needs so many other things. Foles would be big risk at reported asking price. Maybe AJ as free agent signing best bet.
