In the first week of Free Agency, these teams sign Top 15 level guys to ridiculous Top 5 contracts. Then 2-3 years later, they are doing everything in their power to dump the salary. Trading them for 3rd Day Draft Picks, or cutting them outright. It's OK to overpay once in awhile, if you can land the key piece that pushes you over the top. The Jaguars will be in salary cap hell by 2019 or 2020. That team is built on the same model as the Seattle Seahawks. The problem is, Blake Bortles is not Russell Wilson. Pete Posted March 8, 2018 Share Posted March 8, 2018 Thats the case for stockpiling draft picks. Free agent OL, WR, DT- they are about to get huge paydays that will mess up teams caps. That is one way to build. Or you could hit on mid round picks like the Vikes and have quality starters on 4 year mid round contracts. Then when they leave, you get compensatory picks.
