The UAW is all about class

And I'm sure not one of them owns anything in their house made in a foriegn country.  Yeah.  Right.  Nothing more than hypocritical bullies.

You support them telling a young Marine who makes about $1200 a month what kind of car he can afford to drive?  Uh, OK.

Come on AD. Do you truly believe that I would want to dictate to a soldier what type of automobile to purchase? My post says nothing of this.

I did not institute this parking policy, but support their right to implement it. Apparently, the policy is nothing new, but if you want to use it as a cause to attack me, or distort what I posted, you should.

The next time I purchase an automobile, I WILL be factoring in the UAW's decision to screw over MARINES because they don't agree with who they VOTE FOR or what kind of car they drive.

That Benz 320 is looking sweeter every day.

My next car's going to be a Mitsu.

That's saying a lot because my whole life I've been raised to buy american.

The UAW and its membership aren't American.

Sorry I really meant to say "American values".

I was taught one can get ahead if they wrok hard, not having a union protecting my ass and abusing those that don't agree with me.

The last vehicle we bought (Nissan Xterra) was our first non-American car ever. It's of SIGNIFICANTLY better quality in the fit and finish department than anything else we've owned. We'll see how the reliability is over the next few years.

My Honda Accord is great. My wife's Honda Civic is great. My previous car (Ford Explorer) was a POS. My mom's Escort is a POS. My dad's Dodge Intrepid is a POS. Wait...I see a pattern here...

My Dad bought a Honda Accord in 1988. My grandmother is still driving it today. We bought another Accord in 1990 and a Honda Civic in 1999 - amazing cars both. Last spring my Dad bought himself a retirement present in the form of an Acura XTS and it's a wonderful car as well.

Unfortunately, we went with GM in 1997 and bought a Chevy Blazer. It has new problems every month (starting years ago) and is on its deathbed.

Heh. There's a lot of that going around (see my post above).

Me too.

And I'm going to ensure my Mitsu is Japanese-built by requesting it new from the factory IN JAPAN. I'll even pay extra just to eff the UAW over.

I finally changed tactics after buying a Saturn Vue. Our first Saturn (coupe) was a really excellent car and we didn't have any problems with it for seven years. This one was a friggin' nightmare and literally was in the shop every 3-4 weeks after less than 4 months of driving. Finally I called the factory in Tennesee to get them to fix it right. Ridiculous.

The resale value on it was even more ridiculous. I could have bought a Mercedes, driven it for the same length of time for less total cost (by about 15%!).

Not all Saturns are like that.

The old SL1s and SL2s (before they got the Saab motor) still are among the most reliable cars on the road. I've owned three of them, and the only reason I'm not still driving the first one (a 1995 SL2) is because I totalled it.

That being said, the current Saturns my wife and I drive are the last American cars I will buy, and it has nothing to do with reliability. It has everything to do with the fact that the Unions that build them are dead-set against everything I believe in.

And I do not blame you one iota. My entire point was that if they choose to exclude foreign cars from their parking lot, they should have the right to do so.

As for the bumper sticker, this is inexcuseable.
