Hearing more and more about the Broncos and Case Keenum. The Cousins derby very likely to come down to Jets or Vikings

• Happy Hue. This comes from an executive with a historically reliable ear to the ground: Cleveland, with four picks in the top 35 of the draft, is still exceedingly interested in signing free-agent quarterback A.J. McCarron after the trade-deadline-day debacle last fall … and then backstopping him with a rookie quarterback in the draft. I’m hearing that’s coach Hue Jackson’s preference, having coached McCarron in Cincinnati as Bengals offensive coordinator.

I think if Denver signs Keenum, they will take Mayfield. But I think they could trade down from 5 and still do that.

I could see that....

Man, I really want the Bills to take Mayfield...but if we leave this draft without one of the big 3 QBs, it will be a failure of epic proportions imo.

I'd be disappointed, but it's not a failure.  It always takes two to tango and just because the Bills are dangling whatever in someone's face doesn't mean they have to or want to take it.  They just might be glued in on their guy and say thanks but no thanks.

I hear ya...just don’t think I could get excited about the draft if we don’t land one of the big 3 QBs...it would mean we are basically still in a QB purgatory that we can never seem to find our way out of- even with extra draft ammo.

Or they could be the Giants and Colts trade targets where they don't lose out on the blue chip player they want.  I could easily see the Giants trading with the Jets or Broncos.  Giants having Nelson in mind at both picks.  They could lose him to the Colts though so ....

I thought he would be going to Minnesota or NYJ , but since laconfora tweeted it, odds are cousins will be going somewhere else as that guy doesn’t get many reports right ... lol

Which means none of this will happen

As bad as he normally is, he might have broken clock syndrome in this particular case.

I agree with you, but part of this is because we did so well this year record wise, which I wouldn't trade.  If we win 4 games, these conversations and scenarios are easier to talk about.  But then we'd still have that playoff thing on our backs so...

I think we are going to have to make 2 trades in order to get up there and get our qb...

I never saw Denver as a serious consideration for him - they are on the down turn imo. Minny for win now and NYJ for $$$

I still see the Jets giving him something astronomical.Big name, big city, big money and a fan base that is demanding change.

It does add up. Woody Johnson likes the big splash and the Jets have been drafting bad QB's for years. The laughable part to me is that he used to go after guys like Peyton Manning and Favre. I think breaking the bank on Cousins is a mistake.

LaConjecture isn't the only one reporting on these developments so I believe this has legs.

These guys doesn't agree. We'll see in about nine days.

I don’t see that. I think if they sign Keenum, they won’t draft a QB early. It offers Elway some breathing room to take a QB later, or wait a year.

And since Elway is terrible, that’s a good thing.
