I love the signing but the Bills still need to address the position. Shareece Wright as the backup absolutely killed us last year.

Wright is no where near good. But he offer experience. Good CBs are hard to come by. Many teams have starters that are worse than Wright. It wouldn't be the end of the world. And over the course of their career Davis is much healthier than Gaines so hopefully who ever our backup is doesn't see the field as much as Wright did last year

Why the disrespect for EJ Gaines here.....guy was very good for us.

Personally...I hope we can keep him.

^^^^^ This..... it's his right to test the waters....maybe he stays, maybe he goes, but we will not be overpaying because of need.  Good move by OBD

Great signing.

I thought the Bills would land him.

Good work McBeane and McD :)

You DO know that McBeane is the nickname given to two separate people right? Our GM's name is Beane and our coach's name is McDermott. I feel like I've seen this from several people around here. There was another poster referring to McBeane as "he" and I realized some people might think that's our GM's actual name.

But now your not using one of your Firsts on a CB.

A mid level FA would fill the need or a 3rd or 4th rounder.

McD is the coach he was hired first, then along came Beane...hence McBeane

If we lose another 3rd due to Andre Holmes tier characters, I'm gonna freak.

Expand

They have, at most, 4 potential compensatory free agents that they'll lose: Gaines, Matthews, P. Brown, and then maybe one of Deonte or Henderson.

It's unlikely that they'll sign fewer than 4 CFAs with all of this team's needs, but finding a guy like Davis is a good start.

I'd like another non-compensator guy like Joe Hawley to fill a key need and put them in the running for comp picks, but I'm far more interested in assembling talent

I think he was referring to how you said good work McBeane and McD...

Saying good work McBeane was enough because it means both parties already... didn't need to add the McD

that's just what I gathered

And you mentioned McBeane and McD in the same sentence.
