The fact New England got a 4th rounder as well as all their free agents is a testament to the way they play the system. Thank god they can't draft for ****.

Its more like how the league favors them.

The Bills certainly had there chance for comp picks, but you guys needed a vacation to Jacksonville :D

A city so nice they named it Jacksonville.

Seriously though the NFL's system for compensatory draft picks is the most moronic system for compensation ever invented. If you lose 5 high quality starters on 100 million dollar contracts but you sign 5 backups you aren't given any picks because 5 for 5 durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr that's the same durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. !@#$ this system.

None of this is Beane or McDermott's fault.

Whaley made all of the stupid free agent signings that counted against the compensatory formula and voided out our 3rd and 4th round picks. By the time Beane and McDermott came in, they were saddled with a the decision between cutting several integral players while in the playoff hunt or sticking it out and pushing for the playoffs. They stuck it out and we made the playoffs. Remember?

Cool post though.

Pretty sure mcd was there for the free agent pickups, cool post though

Bring back Rex! He always won the off-season.

We are Dooooommed!  What are McBeane and Company doing?  As another poster said, that's 43 bad moves since they came on board AND NO MOVES SO FAR THIS ENTIRE OFF-SEASON.  Even the draft is looking awful at this point.

Yep. Let's fire them all and cut everyone on the roster. Things clearly aren't working out.

Yeah, their drafting is garbage.......................rolls eyes

Yes it is. Look at the guys they have picked in the first few rounds the last couple of years. Some aren't even on their team anymore. Having Brady covers up alot of problems

Our starting RG for 17/17 games? I'm not saying Vlad is a world beater by any means but he was reliable and available every week, clearly beat out Miller . He's easily the most underrated player on this board.

Just don't understand how ppl keep saying we should have cut our starting RG in the midst of a playoff push.. Makes absolutely ZERO sense.

He took over as starter in week 5 actually. Miller won the battle in camp and pre-season but struggled mightily when the lights came on regular season. Vlad was up and down once he took the job... he is actually a better pass blocker than run blocker (with Miller it is the other way round)... but he played better than I expected as a whole. And I totally agree you do not cut your starting guard in a playoff push.

They should just add an 8th round to the draft and eliminate comp picks.

They should eliminate compensatory picks altogether.  If not,  take picks away from teams and use those to give as compensation.

I’d give my left nut to trade their draft busts with ours

Jersey Bills is right, you must not hold your left nut in high esteem. You would sacrifice a testical for the Pats* daft BUSTS?! And you would throw in our busts for good measure? You either have a really  strong opinion of your right nut, or you feel 2 nuts are superfluous. Either way, your scrotum is lucky you are not an NFL GM.

What was Whaley thinking bringing Poyer, Hyde and Hauschka here?

Where the mass hysteria? If Whaley was still GM this board would be on fire. How in the world do you lose half your damn team and get no picks? When you hold onto scrubs like Mike Tolbesity, Leonard "Who Are You?" Johnson, and Succasse. We were so close to adding a 3rd, which could, ya know, help cushion the blow of trading up/losing a pick for No Knees Benjamin.

This is the fourth personnel/draft ammunition failure of this regime.

I gotta admit it ... this rant is pretty good!

Basically traded a 3rd round pick for Holmes / Dimarco / Duccasse

And the fond memories of them that we'll have with us forever ...

Was worth it. Bills do not need comp picks just a franchise QB.

It really isn’t good. Few good picks of course

But Brady and B.B cover up a lot of bad picks
