YoloinOhio Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Herbie and Louis Riddick will be a very nice team imo 1
Seanbillsfan2206 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I think this was a question that nobody was asking. What about Monday night football though?
Mark Vader Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Good choice. It'll be nice to have someone talking mostly about what players did in their college years. What about the coach? You can't have Herbstreit without Lee Corso. 1
atlbillsfan1975 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Herbie is a very nice choice for draft day. He likes UGA, be cool to hear what he has to say about the Dawgs coming out.
NickelCity Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Literally anyone would be better than Gruden (although I'm happy to hear it's Herbstreit). Thrilled Gruden wont be on TV as much. 1
YoloinOhio Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) It’s a huge upgrade in terms of knowledge of the players and coaching/systems they come from. Kind of seems long overdue. I did really enjoy Gruden’s QB camps and interviews before the draft though where he had them draw up plays, etc. Edited February 22, 2018 by YoloinOhio
DallasMac Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I liked Gruden on Monday nights. I do like the idea of bringing in some college guys to talk about the prospects as they are drafted.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Herbstreet is perfect for Monday night football. Really like Gus Johnson but he's a better fit for college.
May Day 10 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 I dont think I have ever heard anyone say they dislike Herbstreit

It’s that 2% of the fan base. They think he purposely goes too far the other way to prove he’s not a homer. They also absolutely can’t stand the fact that he goes to Nashville Preds games because he’s a huge Jackets fan.

He was not really beloved in Tampa during his coaching days, either. 5 hours ago, DallasMac said: I liked Gruden on Monday nights. I was shocked he took it, but with his ego I guess he couldn’t resist. He had a sweet deal! It’s not like he needs the money, though that’s A LOT of money!
P51 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Huge fan of Herbie one of my two favorite announcers of any sport. Its an interesting transition, I hope he’s as good at it as he is talking about college ball, should be, he’s a class act.
Billsfansinceday1 Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I think it's a good move, at least for the draft. I am doubtful he is the right choice for MNF...that would definitely be going outside his lane.
H2o Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I like this move for ESPN. I think Herbstreit knows the game and will add a lot more to the broadcast than the typical rah-rah about every guy by Gruden.
Sky Diver Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Ohio State homer. Don't care for him at all. Cry baby. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/college/othercolleges/2017/12/04/kirk-herbstreit-leaves-espn-set-after-alabama-gets-college-football-playoff-spot-over-ohio-state-buc/918394001/
