Hollywood Donahoe Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Did anyone see General Grievous in the trailer? I did'nt. He's in there for a split second taking a swing at Obi-Wan at roughly 1:25. This trailer is cooler every time I see it. My favorite shot is the one of Vader standing on the balcony, overlooking the lava fields. Pure EVIL.
TheMadCap Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Was anyone able to save a copy? I haven't been able to see it yet...

MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 It looks like Christiansen took some acting lessons. Also considering there's about a 20 year timespan from when Luke and Leia are born and the start of episode 4, DAMN Ben Kenobi aged a ton!

MadBuffaloDisease Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Tatooine will do that to ya. Damn 2 suns! Ben obviously didn't wear enough sunscreen.
ajzepp Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 It looks like Christiansen took some acting lessons. 271912 He's actually a really good actor......he's was solid in "Life as a House" and "Shattered Glass".

ajzepp Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 I didn't see those. Just the 2nd SW episode. Maybe it's the dialogue? 271939 Perhaps, yeah......on top of that, I think he was trying to be an annoying, hot-headed punk in SWII......not trying to make excuses for him, but honestly he was really good in the other two films I've seen him in. In 'Life as a House' he plays a rebellious teenager with a drug issue........then in 'Shattered Glass' he plays Stephen Glass.....I think the two roles showed that he has some versatility to him. You know, the more I think about the whole 'dialogue' issue with the new SW films, the more I think about the dialogue from the older ones. Think about Ewan or Hayden saying "laugh it UP, fuzzball".......I mean honestly, that's kind of a stupid line......but you get Harrison Ford to give life to those words and he sells it. I guess what I'm saying is that I really just think the original actors had more charisma about them, and we were more emotionally involved with their characters.

Well there was definitely more humor to the original 3 than there was in the last 2 (and that goes double for ROTS). Sure the dialogue in the original wasn't the greatest, but the actors were far better IMO. They were just different movies.

I've been a fan of Ewan's since 'Trainspotting', and his portrayal of Obi Wan is quite good, but the only real character in this new trilogy that has captured my interest got cut in half in ep.I I have a feeling that Hayden will change that in ep.III, though. Hell, even Yoda has been kind of a drag to a degree.......I have fond memories of Yoda's ass sticking out of that box thing, grabbing the flashlight, and then using it to fu*k with Luke......that was classic, dammit!
Charlie68 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 Maybe it's the dialogue? I hope we dont hear him refer to Padme as "M'Lady" 17 times again - that was annoying

Remember Lucas looks at these movies as a throw-back to the old serials, which were known to be a bit over-acted. He's been pushing that too hard, IMO. Of course his script-writing sucks too...hopefully he got some doctoring done for this one...
TheMadCap Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 here is another link to the new trailer http://www.zig.org/files/starwars/episodeIII_trailer.mov 271882 NICE! THANK YOU! And hope springs eternal...
