Jay_Fixit Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Good for him. I hope he gets really drunk and enjoys his evening instead of having a camera shoved in his face all night. 1

Doc Brown Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) Geno Smith having to wait until the 2nd round had to be the funniest. A real punch to the jaw. Edited February 20, 2018 by Doc Brown 1
Just Joshin' Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Only bad things can occur if he goes. Safe play to stay away.
Lfod Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) So like is he gonna not show up or come in late for team practices? I'm convinced to not draft him now. He is off my board. P.S. He was late for the Senior Bowl. Edited February 20, 2018 by Lfod
MiltonWaddams Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I'd go just to psyche out Goodell when he goes for his patended bro hug and just shake his hand and go limp when he goes for the hug. Make it real awkward like....
BuffaloRebound Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Unless I had a really good reason not to go, I'd go if I got the invite. It's an honor to be one of the guys who gets invited to the draft. Seems kind of early in the process and somewhat presumptuous to be saying you're not attending the draft.
Kelly the Dog Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I think he's not going because he heard he may not be taken until 20-25 and the fourth or fifth QB taken. And didn't want to be embarrassed if it turns out to be the case.

Roll in wearing a Ezekiel Elliott half shirt, jorts and a igloo cooler full of Natty Light. After each selection that isn't him, pop another beer and slam it down. If he falls in the draft, it'd make for great TV. How blitzed can Baker get? How many will it take to pass out? 2

I want that moment of watching our future QB wearing the hat and holding the jersey. If he goes anywhere else, he can stay at home Yeah, I'm not sure I'd be able to get out of bed and go to work the next day it would be so crushingly disappointing. I mean, I might give up watching football, or at least rooting for the Bills, entirely without that photo op of Mayfield in a Bills hat standing next to Goodell.
GunnerBill Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I'd go if I got the invite. 100%. And I wouldn't care if I didn't get the call until half way through day 2, but that is a personal decision and I understand someone not wanting to. As Yolo said his mum's health may well be a significant factor here. I don't think Mayfield is going to fall. Just like last year when at this time people we saying "there might only be one Quarterback that goes in the first round" and I was saying "three could go in the top 10" and was out by only two picks - there are going to be at least four Quarterbacks taken in the top 15 this year. As last year showed, if the teams sitting up there don't want to take them there are deals to be made now with the revisions teams have made to the trade value chart that makes it affordable and attractive to go up and get a guy knowing you have five cheap years under the existing CBA. Missing on a Quarterback at the top of the draft doesn't kill you anymore like JaMarcus Russell did the Raiders. 1
eball Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 He just wants to avoid the awkward Goodell hug.

papazoid Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 he's a sure fire first rounder......ARZ or BUF takes him in the unlikely event he falls out of Top 6 I say you go.....he's hiding something/avoiding questions.....needs to face them head on,,,,they are not going away
ALF Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 He'll answer a lot of questions at the combine. If his mother is still ill, good that he can share a great moment of the draft with her . 1

They have too many guys just collecting checks he could change the culture a bit. I don't blame him for staying home, family and friends is where it's at.
JinxedBill1 Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I'd rather have the camera on me when I'm picked at home then over and over in the back room.
