He sat for a few years and finally got an opportunity to come into the season as his team's starter in 2015. He put together solid seasons in 2015 and 2016, but 2017 was his worst year by nearly any statistical measure. 2017 wasn't entirely his fault, though. It was his first year with a new OC because his previous OC was hired to be the HC in LA. His top 2 WRs from 2015 and 2016 were no longer with the team in 2017, and OL injuries were an issue throughout the year. In addition to all that, his favorite target (his TE) was also injured for a portion of the year. This QB was also a contributor on the ground, ranking top 3 in rushing TDs by QBs from 2015-2017. His team made the playoffs once in his 3 years as a starter, and despite consistently below average defensive performance over the 3 years, the team has a record above .500 when he starts. Now that 2017 is over, many of the local fans criticize him because they do not believe he is capable of elevating the team around him and they question why the national media ever speaks highly of him. It is pretty clear that the team also intends to move on from him prior to the 2018 season. Who's that QB? The Hokies QB
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Did he have two 1000 yard receivers
PolishDave Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 So can't we just trade Taylor for Cousins then straight up? 1 1

Who's that QB? 51 passing TDs and one 300 yard passing (in a game that went into OT no less) game in three seasons isn't good enough. transplantbillsfan Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 (edited) I think the primary folks who view Taylor as a longshot starter in 2018 for the Bills are the national media who doesn't really focus on or care much about the Bills and a faction of fans on places like this message board who have generally disdained Taylor for the bulk of his tenure in Buffalo. We might cut him, but even the national reporters like Rappaport are catching onto the fact that even that is rather unlikely. We might trade him, if we can. We might go after Cousins, but at his price tag, I just kind of doubt it. I'm 99.9% sure we're drafting a QB in the first round to replace him and eager to see who that might be (Please GOD don't let it be Josh Allen!!!), but good GOD, can you just imagine the uproar here the night of Thursday, April 26th if the 1st round ends and in the 1st round the Bills didn't trade up and, instead, spent their 2 1st round picks on a DL and OL!!! Fadingpain Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 The thing about Cousins is this: if you watch a few Redskins games and really focus on his individual play and talent set, it's just not that great or impressive. He is not "bad" and a definite upgrade over Tyrod, but he is nothing particularly special. 1
