Another Fan Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I go at least every 3 months. Always something they find. Have to go back for a cavity in a few weeks. Never a pleasant experience
GoBills808 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Once every five years. I have zero cavities in my life. Doc says it's something to do with my saliva...outside an occasional cleaning I could probably go the rest of my life without stepping foot into a dentist's office.
RaoulDuke79 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Generally twice a year for the once over. I've been on a good streak of no problems.
row_33 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 four cleanings a year, X-rays fit into those visits
Chef Jim Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Twice without fail! I take great care of my teeth. Just got a sonic toothbrush that I love!

mead107 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 2 cleanings. 2 fillings and a route canal last year. Moist a filling last week.
Greybeard Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Twice a year at least. You can fix a problem when it is small, or when it is big. Your choice. I have done both in the past and smaller is always better.
row_33 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Insurance plans have varied between 2 and 4 scalings per year, current is 4
KD in CA Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I never heard of going more than twice a year other than if you need some major work done. And yeah, you absolutely have to use an electric toothbrush. Makes a huge difference; there's usually very little plaque for remove during my cleanings.

Look into your health plan , it may provide for 4 cleanings a year and it’s good to do them
Marv's Neighbor Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 2X a year. Never had wisdom teeth taken out. Never remember them being mentioned. Last year, had 1 pulled, decay below the gum line. Not the most fun I've ever had.

No kidding. Our cat has had many teeth extracted. She looks like The Bumble in Rudolph after Herbie pulled his teeth out.
row_33 Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Knocking the darn cat or dog eats up 90 percent in drugs and the extractions are a smaller piece rate to pile on....

My dentist said to chew gum for it produces saliva which breaks down plaque. My big issue is acid reflux which bubbles up to my mouth at night and is terrible for teeth.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Insurance plan allows for 4 cleanings per year, so that’s what I do. I think I get 1 x-ray per year for free as well. Might as well take advantage if it’s free.
BUFFALOKIE Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Roughly once per decade whether I need it or not. No cavities.
