Yes , there was a way to serve as a conscientious objector . I had no problem with that what so ever. I was against the war so I went in the Navy for 6 years during Nam, safe on a ship. So having deferments for going to school and having a high draft lottery number makes one a “draft dogger”? BLOW ME.
