26CornerBlitz Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) Sources: McDaniels spurns Colts to stay in NE After two days of reflection and conversations with the New England Patriots, New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has decided not to accept the Indianapolis Colts' head coaching job, league sources told ESPN. In the past 48 hours, Patriots owner Robert Kraft began talking with McDaniels and ultimately wound up sweetening his contract, helping to entice him to remain in New England rather than leave for Indianapolis, which announced it would be holding a news conference Wednesday to introduce its new head coach. But McDaniels did not have a signed contract with the Colts, according to a source. But this wasn't a decision about money. The truth is, McDaniels has been vacillating on this decision throughout the interview process, ever since meeting with the Colts on wild-card weekend. It is the reason a second meeting with Colts officials and team owner Jim Irsay was held. McDaniels was trying to get comfortable with the idea of taking his family out of New England and moving it to Indianapolis. Edited February 7, 2018 by 26CornerBlitz
PirateHookerMD Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) What a scumbag. Hope he gets blackballed. Poor colts left without a dance partner and embarrassed 2nd choice coaching hire. Edited February 7, 2018 by PirateHookerMD 2
YoloinOhio Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Looks like they finally told him about the pending Andrew Luck trade 5 10 1
frogger Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I bet he was told Old Billy is nearing the end and he’s next up 16
The_Dude Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Wow! Obviously the heir apparent. Now what do the Colts do?

YoloinOhio Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 They should go for Frank Reich. He used to coach there. 4

CommonCents Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I'm going to pretend this mean BB is retiring because that will make me happy.
26CornerBlitz Posted February 7, 2018 Author Posted February 7, 2018 Major D-Bag move pulling that on the Colts and all of the assistant coaches who committed to being on his staff. 4
YoloinOhio Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) FYI, I think they are going to hire Dave Toub. They never felt like Josh was 100% committed and he was plan B. We will see, but it’s what I heard. Edited February 7, 2018 by YoloinOhio 3 1
oldmanfan Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 He better hope Kraft hires him when Belicheat retires because he has no credibility anywhere else in the league now 3
26TrapDraw Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Yep McDaniels as the new HC makes more sense but I bet Belichick stays another season. 1 1
