How often do teams trade for a player with the expectation of only 1 season?    Other than say the Pats***  I don't recall it happening frequently.

I looked at the trade as more for the draft pick, and matthews to fill the wr hole made by the sammy trade until teh off season. If we bring him back at reasonable price I wouldnt hate it, him zay and kb is a decent wr core i think

I think this is probably the plan, athough I'd really enjoy getting to see Dawkins and Glenn as our bookends.

At some pt McBeane has to stop the cap savings routine.  There are creating to many holes to fill . Unless they sign a good tackle in free agency for less and then trade Cordy this does not make any sense.  Btw i would love to see those bookends also.

Trade/Cut TT

Trade Glenn - Dawkins did fine, save money, get picks

The rest - Trust the process

Oh yeah....keep Tolbert off the field!

Freakin' A Right!!!

Cordy has 3yrs 30mil left on his deal.  That's very good compared to other tackles in the league and where the cap is headed. 10mil per plus Dawkins at 2mil that's 12mil per for your bookends. The purge needs to stop .

Cordy has 3 yrs left 30 mil left on his deal...   and "0" years left on his body.

Lose him.

I guess McBeane was being optimistic when they said he was looking really good for OTAs and that he's working very hard to get bk. We can't keep creating more holes to fill for this team.

Agreed that we don’t need more holes to fill.

I released everyone from the roster and we had 100 million in cap space.  That's plenty for FA!

On the con side we did have 180 million in dead cap so there's that.

All in all trust the process.

You don’t have to release every one.

Release TT and restructure 3 or so and you could have ~$50 mil

I did it just to do it.  It's more of joke really.  You know, what if we just release everyone.  We'd have much more dead cap than actual cap.

I’d keep O’Leary for at least another season.   Need to see what they do at qb first.

What's the plan to make Cousins' hit $25M?

Send him a bouquet of flowers and a 5 year deal.  $100 Mil, $50 guaranteed and "The Process".

Playoff Caliber (Calibre) mentality, a rising defense,  HC and ownership.

I mean, there are ways for his AAV to be 29-30 but his 2018 hit is kept low. Just curious.

I'm sure there are.  I'm not a capologist so I'll leave it to the experts to figure out.

Keep it reasonable in 2018 and a nice bump up in 2019 when they have  more cap room.

According to Spotrac, if I am reading it correctly, it is 3 yrs for 39.6 Million.

Cordy becomes a UFA 2012.  He is entering his 3rd season of the 5 yr(s) contract.

currently his dead cap is  $19,600,000

POTENTIAL OUT: 2019, 3 YR, $41,250,000; $6,400,000 DEAD CAP

So if they go with McCarron
