CommonCents Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Hope he can live a normal life and enjoy his family. Thanks for all the memories. Emoulds right again as usual. Something for all the imposters to take notice of. 1
bills_fan Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 I still remember Eric and his wife coming to McFaddens for a NYC BBB event. Totally cool dude. Any NYC BBB members have any photos of that? I cant find mine
Buddy Hix Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 That's too bad. I hope Eric enjoys his retirement and lives a long healthy life.
sodbuster Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 My favorite Eric Wood moment is when he told Aaron Maybin to give back all the money he didn't earn. He really spoke for the fans. 10 1
BigBuff423 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Eric Wood was always a great guy for Buffalo and played his heart out despite a couple of season-ending injuries in years past. The irony is that he played 100% of the Bills C snaps this year, only to have this....I sincerely wish him and his family a very long life of health, peace, and contentment. As for Wood the player, he was a very likable guy, and you rooted for him ever since he put on the Red White and Blue uniform....but, I also think the Bills could use an upgrade at Center, now is not the time to think about that...I'm merely saying there is the human side (see above) and the football side. Humanity overrules anything else, but planning for next year is a relevant topic given the sad news.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Sucks. Eric was a great Bill. Borderline wall guy. Sorry to hear. Guess it’s a good thing we kept Groy 1
jtothebrown Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Much love for EW! Wall of fame for sure! Hall of fame too! Always a Bill, we will have your back bro!
Freddie's Dead Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Terrible news for the Bills. Eric Wood is the prototype for a Buffalo Bill. Lunchpail guy, gave it 110% every time he was out there. A damn fine center who got too much crap on this board, IMO. All the best to Eric Wood and his family. This one's for you Eric. 1
cba fan Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 (edited) Report say he suffered career ending neck injury. That headline implies an acute traumatic event. Not a degenerative medical situation just discovered. Then the body of the news describes it as a complicated condition. Does not mesh. Hard to believe media would treat a situation like this with a click bait headline. So I wonder if he was skiing or surfing or something and suffered an injury. I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery and able to enjoy retirement from NFL with all his mobility working. Edited January 26, 2018 by cba fan

Tim Graham says there was no traumatic injury. Cumulative. 1

YoloinOhio Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 (edited) I changed thread title from “suffered” to “has” since it sounds like it wasn’t a sudden thing Edited January 26, 2018 by YoloinOhio 1
Beast Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 My heart breaks for him. Just makes you wonder if he was gutting out something this season. Thanks for everything, Eric. You were a bright spot through many lean years. I’m glad you were therebwhen the drought ended. 2
YoloinOhio Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 What a roller coaster month for wood. Plays in first ever playoff game, welcomes baby boy, realizes he needs to retire due to injury, holds press conference .... 1
Uncle Joe Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Sorry he couldn't go out on his own terms. He came back from 2 major injuries and was a team and community leader. Wish him well in his next phase of life.
