CLTbills Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 OK, so I'm not going to make a Dunkirk Don style prediction here because I don't have his "inside sources".... But I live in Charlotte. Just had a client who lives in Dorsey's neighborhood (same neighborhood Coach McD lived in when he was here) and is fairly close with the Dorsey's. She saw my Bills cup on my desk this morning and said it sounds like they're coming to Buffalo. Wife isn't happy about the cold, haha. It'll be interesting to see. Can't say I'll be surprised, nor will anybody. What are your thoughts? I know I've seen some posts on here that some guys would like to have him if we're going to draft a young QB. 4

Alrite, now we can use the draft capital to build around Joe Webb!! In all seriousness...I would be so-so on the hire. Was a good college QB, not an NFL QB , and has only worked with Cam Newton with limited success as an NFL Passer 1
26CornerBlitz Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I'd be fine with his addition to the coaching staff. 2
PromoTheRobot Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 We live in NH and my wife wants to GTFO and move south because of the miserable weather, even though we both have a great thing going here. So I get where Mrs.Dorsey is coming from. That said, Ken's going to be too busy with work to even pay attention to her anyway. If it were me I'd rent her a Florida condo until spring. 2
PaattMaann Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Dorsey also backed up Alex Smith for the 49ers, so he would be familiar with his strengths and weaknesses if we made a move for Smith lol
YoloinOhio Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I would love it, and feel it would be essential for Daboll to add a well regarded QB coach to the staff. Keep Culley and move into a different title or AHC. 1

The Bills QB coach right now was the KC WR coach. You absolutely should have a QB coach, coaching QBs. Edited January 24, 2018 by Kirby Jackson 2

Also, asked another way, what has Culley done as a QB coach? It certainly is an upgrade. 1

YoloinOhio Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I did see that he’s interviewing with Falcons for QB coach (along with Darrell Bevell) http://www.myajc.com/sports/football/falcons-interview-ken-dorsey-for-vacant-coach-spot/3vyXUQqoGAkna49UhbTJRM/
BrooklynBills Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I think they will let Culley move on somewhere else.

I would prefer a more seasoned QB coach who has a history with different QBs, instead of Ken Dorsey who has only ever coached Cam Newton with mixed results. I wouldnt hate the hire, but it wouldn't wow me Edited January 24, 2018 by PaattMaann 1

You'll just be trading miserable in the winter for miserable in the summer. I have a lot of relatives in South Carolina. They literally are held prisoner by Air Conditioning from 10AM to 6PM from May through September...not my kind of life... 1

It's pretty freaking brutal from Mid-June through the end of August. I went to the Bills game here in week two. Good god it was awful.

He played it at a high level in college and played a few years in the NFL with pretty much zero athletic ability or talent. He had a noodle arm, so he got everything he could by being smart and good technique. That's the kind of guy I want as my quarterback coach. He is very strong with the cerebral side of the game. He also has a background in pro scouting. He is generally credited with doing a lot for Cam Newton in terms of technique etc. I also like the idea of some young blood on the staff. 2
Buffalo Boy Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Devils advocate: What has he done? Newton, Ponder and Webb. I’m a big Cam fan but he has been infuriating at times with piss poor mechanics. Not sure what Dorsey actually Brings to the table?
