Look at the National Title Game:  A QB for Alabama who WAS winning with his athletic ability, who is an average passer, who telegraphs throws. This is not working against GA.  Insert pure passer who sees the field, looks off a safety, burns GA for the winning touchdown throw. Dabol surely had a part in the preparation and decision.

Taylor is to Hurts as.......  (insert potential name here) is to Tagaviloa....    Mahalo!

He'll be gone soon enough.  Trust the process.

Where is my post did you see Taylor sucks? In fact, I compared him to Hurts who has been extremely successful. image.thumb.png.54520ae6c59c2dd95d6ab4ce6588b782.png

I was comparing styles....take what the defense gives you. When Hurts struggled with that, Alabama made a bold change.

It sometimes amazes me how single minded and bandwagon jumping the NFL is when it comes to creativity on offense. We have seen a very few revolutionary changes in 50 years; Wildcat, Shotgun Snap and thats about it. I'm not trying to be an armchair OC here but then again, I don't get paid millions to mastermind offensive creativity.

Mayfield.

Mayfield is definately a grinder.

I watched Darnold in his bowl game as well.....seems to have panicked a bit, and had difficulty seeing the field.

Picking a QB is definately above my paygrade!

Its the hardest position in sports to scout . To many variables.

This is odd...I don't remember Alabama losing off of a game clinching interception...

Wait, no, I'm remembering "Pure Passer" Peterman. That's the comparison you are making.

No. I see a curve ball QB that Georgia couldn't adjust to quickly enough. In the NFL, that might win you one game. In a week or two, NFL defensive coordinators figure you out, and boom, you aren't special anymore.

Ok, so one response to my post was that I said Taylor sucks, another thinks I mentioned Peterman. Wow.....

In a debate.....i don't think you are allowed to respond to comments NOT made by the other side.

My comparison wasn't meant for specific plays.....it was a more global perspective.  Seeing what happened in the Alabama game IMO is justification for making the switch against the Chargers. I realize the two decisions has vastly different results. It took balls to make the switch against the Chargers, and took balls to make it in the NCAA Title game. Some decisions work some don't......

I still stand by my original comparison. If anyone watched every Tide game and every Bills game this year....feel free to correct me or debunk the comparison.

Notice my original post did say (insert name here).......I'll defer to all the other posts on who our QB should be.....

Eventually even the dumb-dumbs in the NFL will get that "athletic QBs" the type of which are popular in Alabama will NEVER work in the NFL.

One reason is way too much team speed on NFL defenses; another is superior coverage/CB play at the NFL level relative to college.

I don't think people realize just how much of a crazy talent gap there is all over big time college football fields, even among top teams.  The quality differential from position to position/team to team is HUGE at the NCAA level.

You have to becareful when you start any thread about a QB. TT lovers will jump to defend a 8 year vet but throw the rookie right under the bus.

Anyone that follows recruiting knows that Tua Tagovaiola was the #1 dual threat recruit in the country. They brought an elite talent into the game and he excelled. That’s not a surprise.

He shoulda been starting from day 1 but I guess it's tough to pull a starter Iike hurts who doesn't lose

but from their spring game , I said that Tua was by far the better QB

Oh thank god, another anti Tyrod thread...was getting worried we weren't going to keep up our average around of 97 new ones a day.  <_<
