GoBills808 Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 I don't believe anything GMs say in the offseason, personally. 1

Cousins is 29, he isn't too old if the Bills make a push in 2019. That said four picks in first 55 or so could make it quicker. 1
26CornerBlitz Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 (edited) The deal gives Washington a reliable starting quarterback, though not one who guarantees a postseason run of greatness. But Cousins didn’t either, and that’s why Washington grew impatient with a passer who had some great regular-season moments but failed to deliver in the clutch late in seasons. Now we’ll get to see which teams will be most aggressive for Cousins, whose success in the past three regular seasons will make him, minimum, a $24-million-per-year player on the open market. In the past three seasons, his passer ratings have been 101.6, 97.2 and 93.9. Those rank with the top passers in the league. The payoff will come soon, and don’t be surprised if it comes with the Jets. The interesting attractions to Cousins with New York start with new offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, who has the same offensive philosophy as 2017 successes Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan. Cousins has played for both McVay and Shanahan and knows Bates would be a good fit for his skills. Also, the Jets will be desperate to solve a quarterback vacancy that has plagued them for years—or least since they discovered how limited Mark Sanchez was. But don’t eliminate the passer-desperate Broncos, who will definitely add a credible veteran in 2018. And do not eliminate the Browns either; they have more cap room than the Jets, and no team is more desperate to solve the quarterback problem than Cleveland. https://www.si.com/2018/01/30/alex-smith-trade-washington-redskins-kansas-city-chiefs-mmqb Edited January 31, 2018 by 26CornerBlitz

Then we'll be able to use our 5 picks in the top 100 to pick starters for next season instead of trading/losing assets to move up and pick a QB who will spend a couple years getting acclimated to the pro game.

Not feeling it. Costs too much for a guy who's not THE GUY. The deal gives Washington a reliable starting quarterback, though not one who guarantees a postseason run of greatness. 26CornerBlitz Posted January 31, 2018 Author Posted January 31, 2018 (edited) 5. Buffalo Bills: The Browns aren't the only outfit with draft picks to burn and a long-standing need under center. The Bills have two picks apiece in the first two rounds, plenty of ammo to join the Cousins hunt should they opt to pursue an upgrade on Tyrod Taylor. Considering Taylor has been benched for less than stellar backups in each of the past two seasons, nobody should be surprised to see Buffalo enter the Cousins derby. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000912644/article/most-likely-landing-spots-for-kirk-cousins Potential landing spots for Cousins. Honestly I think for Cousins to make the playoffs your roster will have to be much better than it should need to be for a QB you are paying franchise money to. It doesnt make sense to pay him that money and then expect him to make up for the roster shortcomings when he has done nothing to show he could in Washington. Edited January 31, 2018 by matter2003

We got to the playoffs in spite of him. not because of him. All wee needed in 2 games was 1 freaking TD to win and 21 game to tie it in a playoff game at the end of the 4th. Carolina Lost 9 - 3 Bengals Lost 20 -16 Jax Lost 10 - 3 Edited January 31, 2018 by ShadyBillsFan

A lot. Edited January 31, 2018 by matter2003
