In any high profile business, anyone who doesn't continue to improve year after year is out of a job.

Unless you're Rex Ryan.

Has Jacksonville’s defense gotten better since Dareus arrived?

Don't quote me, but I think their run D got significantly better.  I don't have stats to back that up; I thought I heard it on ESPN Radio, though.

He had a job trade or no trade.  Maroon has to have some lessons learned from his stint in Buffalo.

He had a job, but not a secure job.  He's many times more secure in JAX, because he would not have been a BILL going forward.

Still would have had a job as a player in the NFL trade or no trade.

I have to think that Tom Coughlin had a lot to do with this.

His own change in coaching style from a very hard nosed, disciplinarian who was hard to p,aynfor and rubbed players the wrong way to more of a players coach is well publicized. He almost lost his job over it, until John Mara told him he had to change or he'd be let go. He said players have changed. So you you must change too. Coughlin agreed.

I find it concerning that McDermott/Beane decided to basically give Dareus away without even trying to work with him.

He's still very young and one of the most talented defensive tackles in the league. Just stupid IMO.

I think Marrone started out relaxed, laid back and personable.  It was once the Buffalo press started getting tougher on him as they were losing (and some poor in-game decisions) that he got more ornery and nasty.  At the moment, the Jacksonville press is loving him, so he's not dealing w/ any difficult issues.
