PromoTheRobot
Auburn University to hire Allen Greene http://buffalonews.com/2018/01/17/reports-ub-ad-allen-greene-going-to-auburn/ The life of being a mid-major athletic program means you're regularly poached by larger schools. The good news is those big schools think your people are worth poaching. Allen Greene took over for Danny White after he left for UCF. He was White's assistant. Not sure if a potential successor is already at UB or if the school will have to go outside. Either way, despite trimming away four sports last year, UB teams are the best they've ever been. Both basketball teams have won the MAC and are just outside the top 25 in RPI rankings this season. Football looks like it will have a breakout session next year. UB ought to be looking like an attractive job since the last three AD's went to major schools. (Warde Manual to UConn, White to UCF and now Greene to Auburn.) Well he did cut some programs..let's face the facts UB athletics is not a profitable "business".He wasn't here long enough to really do all that needed to get done but I don't blame him for taking the Auburn job..he hit paydirt for sure..
