BB took a 3-13 Browns team and brought them to 11-5 and the Div playoff game in 4 seasons with a combo of Kosar (on life support), Mike Tomcsak, and Vinnie Testaverde. Hue took a 3-13 Browns team and nearly ran the table in losses, an unprecedented 1-31--screwing up the QB position at every opportunity along the way. Jackson took an 8-8 OAK team and brought them to 8-8, with Carson Palmer (who became a much better QB again after he wasn't with Jackson). In Cincy, before he showed up, Dalton threw for 4200+. In Hue's 2 seasons as OC, Dalton didn't break 3400. The year after Hue left, Dalton was back over 4200. BeforeHue, the Bengals Offense wass ranked 10 in total yards. It fell to 15th with Hue. Back up to 13th the year after he left. Hue and BB's pasts and presents could not be more dissimilar. You do know that Hue was Carson Palmer QB coach/OC at USC where he won the Heisman trophy?? Belichick in CLE was 6-10, 7-9, 7-9, 11-5, 5-11. Belichick CUT Kosar prior to the season he went 11-5. The QBs that season was Heisman trophy winner Vinny Testaverde and SB winner Mark Rypien. FACTS!! So in 5 seasons Belichick had ONE winning season. Back to Hue, he was Flacco QB coach in Baltimore. His offense as OC in Oakland was 4th in the AFC and 6th in the NFL. Hue had 1 season in OAK as HC before he was fired by new GM. Go check his stats as OC when he was there. Just like BB, Hue was better as an asst coach than he was as HC. It took Belichick a couple of stints at HC before he became a "genius". So their paths are more similar than you know.

He "CUT" Kosar prior to going 11-5...because Kosar sucked and his career was over. Then they went 11-5. Testeverde was a Heisman winner...9 years prior! Hue had a cup of coffee in Baltimore. As OC in OAK, his offense was 10th in yards and 6th in points. This is his only significant accomplishment. A year later, as HC, this same offense would fall to 16th in points scored. Hue's work in Cincy was mediocre if you are generous with the assessment. BB took a 3-13 team and turned to around within 4 years. Hue has never done this. He has done the opposite. He has made an awful franchise even worse. His boneheaded decisions along the way in Cleveland sealed the fate of that team. BB's success as a coordinator in NYG dwarfs anything Hue achieved by several orders of magnitude. Again, they could not be less alike--starting with what they did in Cleveland under much different circumstances.

I actually didn't have a problem with him leaving the Bills rather than work under Marv as GM. That was an awful decision by Wilson. That said, I'm not sure how many more chances Mularkey is going to have.
