I thought the game was over and almost turned it off because I thought the Saints had the game won. Glad I stuck around. I feel bad for the safety though.......his career with the Saints may be over. Salute! I was kinda numb and jaded after 7 hours on the couch, the first game was surprisingly interesting the whole game as well.

One thing I liked about our D: the DBs played good fundamental football. Wrapped up on guys. That's what I thought when I saw that. Actually my first thought was Belichick's guys know what their job is. Second thought was McD's guys know. It gave me a warm feeling.

These guys were mugging the WRs all night. You think this guy went to the sideline and thumbed through the rulebook before that play and laid off? No, but I think before they took the field the coach yelled at them "whatever you do, don't draw the flag. No PI got it you *@3!? No PI!"
ndirish1978 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 That missed tackle was about as bad as they get
NoSaint Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 You ever hit the wrong button in madden? I’m convinced we just saw the real life version. 1 1
transient Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Wait, what? The Saints lost? Why have I been spending time trying to grasp the moral from their win? I’m so confused...

This simply showed a poorly coached team...Players not understanding what they need to do there...All he need was to push the player out of bounds or tackle inside. Game over.

Hebert19 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Here's the thing. I think he knew he was there early (would have been pass interference) and pulled up.

"Whatever you do, don't do that."

Good teaching example for every safety. "Whatever you do, don't do that." If you watch where Diggs comes down with the ball, he’s easily 2 yards in bounds. Williams would have had to catch him in midair and throw him WWE style out of bounds for him not to come down in bounds with the ball. 26 minutes ago, Hebert19 said: Here's the thing. Unfortunately he compounds it by taking out Crawley, who’s the only other Saint in the vicinity who may have had a chance to make the play. Edited January 15, 2018 by transient

The only possible explanation other than sloppy technique is that maybe for some reason the DB thought he was going to be hit by someone else and was trying not to get hurt or draw a penalty. Was it a possible “defenseless hit on a receiver?” This seems like a stretch but it’s a possible explanation.

DBs are moving their aimpoint lower because of the head shot flags Whats the excuse for not using his arms/hands...? Even holding a foot there will prevent him from getting out of bounds. 55 minutes ago, BuffaloBill said: Yeah it’s an unbelievable play. I could see jumping up for a deflection and missing or something trying to play the ball there. But you let him catch it - all you had to do was tackle him!

Good to see that McD fixed that down the stretch.

Jauronimo Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Avoiding PI by allowing a TD is a questionable strategy.

I was simply trying to find a plausible explanation for the situation that involved something other than poor technique. At the end of the day, the DB’s failure to wrap up for whatever reason was a colossal mistake.
