LA Grant Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Does the fact that we lost to a team that made it to the AFC Championship Game change your opinion of our roster at all? Or is every game such a case-by-case basis that you'd feel the same, even if Pittsburgh had blown out the Jags?
JohnBonhamRocks Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Allows me a little bit more optimism when looking at it.
jr1 Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I think the Steelers were way overconfident. Tomlin was making calls to help Wilks get a job etc 1
MiltonWaddams Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Nope, but it affirms my belief in the defensive coaching. Hopefully Daboll brings some of the same quality of coaching to the offensive side of the ball. Well, him and the new QB!
NewEraBills Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) NO!! I said this in another thread. You can't take a specific game plan vs 1 team and then project it across a future season as if the same successes and failures will be replicated with the same personnel. OldTimer1960 Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Nope. The Bills sold out completely to stop the run and, in that game, Bortles could not make them pay. That does not mean that their defense is good. Indeed, without the turnovers they got this year, this defense is bottom 1/3 of the NFL.

EmotionallyUnstable Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Not at all. We knwe exactly what out strengths/weaknesses were. Big Ben also played awful in the first half, which helped the Jacksonville offense quite a bit.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) Not at all. There will be a lot of changes with the roster also. Bills never expected to win this year. It was a rebuild year. That rebuild will continue into 2018. Hopefully they can once again win games while rebuilding. Edited January 14, 2018 by TheTruthHurts

QB and BOTH sides of the ball need quite a bit of work
BigDingus Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) It just shows what's SUPPOSED to happen when the defense can't carry the entire load... Some games get into high scoring matches, and when they do, the Bills can never respond accordingly. Edited January 14, 2018 by BigDingus

I am open to thoughts and listening, but, off the top of my head...........doesn't change anything.
Doc Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 If by "change your mind about the roster" you mean "not try to improve it," I doubt you'll find anyone, much less the Bills, who doesn't think that the roster needs to be upgraded over the off-season, no matter how far the Jags go. 1
Heavy Kevi Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) No. Some teams match up well with others. We beat Atl, but i don't think we are better, and Atl beat New Orleans which we got stomped by. Any given Sunday. You cannot follow linear logic in the NFL. Edited January 14, 2018 by Shotgunner 3
BillsPride12 Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 The Bills were overachievers this season. We are still sorely lacking so much talent but McDermott and Beane have both admitted that and said they have a ton of work to do and we are still far away from the ultimate goal so I'm not worried about it. We will get better but no this doesn't change my opinion of this current roster. 2
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Nope I’ve said it for 2 plus years - we need a QB.
Chandemonium Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Not really, just made me sad to think what may have been last week if we had even a semi effective offense.
