I feel like the offensive-minded coaches that come out of the NCAA are rarely able to translate success at the collegiate level to the NFL. On the other hand, this guy has been around a lot of winning and he isn't a retread OC. He spent most of his time in the NFL.

Best I can come up with is that he seems to put together good running games but he appears to be downright horrible with QB's. Matt Moore is the closest thing he's had to a passing game and even as I say he seems to put together a running game the teams he's had haven't been able to score with the running game so it's kind of a mute point. Now someone give me a reason other than he's a likeable guy or there were rumors Bilichick was going to hire him. We all know Brady can basically run the offense without an 0C. He isn't a retread ........... as long as you forget the 3 times he's failed miserably at it. More like he had really horrible QBs.

True that TSW doesn't care about grammar or we'd all get the bute! I'm on my laptop now and my spelling is probably even worse. The o key doesn't work so I have to cut and paste every o, hit ctrl v every time, and use the number 0 for a capital letter.

He had a 1,500 yard rusher and averaged 13.2 points per game. That is frightening. There's more to it than that. Taking a step back he had fairly well rounded approaches in Miami and KC. It seems very possible he could take a step forward here but it is not what all the "throw for 300 yards" crowd is looking for. I have to agree. If you're a fan of the pass-first multiple skill receiver NFL offenses then this hire doesn't bring the promise of bringing it here. That said, a power running team with a good quarterback, accurate quarterback and solid scheming has always been a good remedy for success in this league.

Bevell milked a career season out of a QB old enough to draw social security... Wilson isn't tall enough for at least two Disneyland rides, but Bevell managed to swing four playoff appearances, two championships. and a superbowl ring out of the guy... Give me that everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. Daboll... -Pssshhht.

Quinn was a first round pick. Anderson a pro-bowler. Cassel played fine in NE. Moore was the best out of the bunch. I mean I agree with you that no one there is a guy you'd pick as your starter but he didn't exactly "create" any offense anywhere he went either. Again I'm over all that. Seems once they leave Cleveland they get it together. Maybe we're getting him at the right time.

MrEpsYtown Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I suppose we could see some Pats guys come over. Cam Fleming could be a target at RT, and Josh Kline at RG (I know he's a Titan, but former Pat). Even though I hate him, maybe throw a bone to Amendola to come and return punts and be a 3/4. I think Chris Hogan gets cut this year as well. Daboll coached Hogan in Miami as well. My target for Daboll would be Dion Lewis. Perfect backup to Shady (he has experience doing it) and he is a good reciever out of the backfield as well.

But will take a wait and see because at the end of the day it doesnt matter. Get a real QB If history tells us anything, your observations are usually wrong, so this hire doesn’t worry me... 1
