3rdnlng Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 It is my contention that the dems do not want to bring the "Dreamers" situation to a close. The dems want to keep this issue alive so that they can pick away at it and blame republicans for not wanting to do anything about it. The "compromise" proposed by the "Five Guys" was nothing but a sham to make it appear that President Trump didn't want to solve this issue. Trump should come out and make it very clear that he wants to give the "dreamers" permanent residency but the dems are standing in the way. Continually play tapes of Clinton, Obama and Pelosi calling for a wall. Make this about the dems refusing to work with the republicans rather than the republicans wanting to deport the "dreamers". Anyone can see that there is a reasonable compromise here and that a solution should be a no brainer. It's time to put the blame where it belongs. 1
Koko78 Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Of course it's a sham issue. The Democrats couldn't give two !@#$s about the DACA kids. They just want to proclaim victim status for the DACAs, obstruct any legislation to help them, and blame the GOP for not doing anything about it. The Democrats do not benefit at the polls if something is actually done on Capitol Hill.
3rdnlng Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 https://conservative-daily.com/2018/01/13/trump-shuts-backstabbing-rinos-kills-amnesty-surrender-plan/ President Trump is playing the Democrats and Establishment Republicans like a fiddle. During his televised immigration meeting, he told the group assembled that he trusted them and would sign whatever they sent to him. Conservatives — even myself — gasped. Could he really be betraying his main 2016 promise? Of course not. This past week, a group of RINOs — including Lindsey Graham-nesty and Jeff Flake — showed up at the White House to show Trump what they had come up with. They said that their bill would be able to get 60 votes. What Trump saw was the opposite of what his demands were. Not only would there be full amnesty for illegal alien DACA recipients, but the bill would also extend amnesty to their immediate family and leave the door open to millions of their extended family members coming into the country through chain migration. The bill would have left sanctuary cities to their devices and altered the visa lottery to bring more people from s***hole countries here. President Trump took one look at it and told them to get lost. He tested them by promising to sign whatever they would send him and in less than 48 hours, they had a plan in front of him to surrender everything to the Democrats. They really thought they could take advantage of him and he smacked them back down to earth. Now, Democrats are throwing a fit, demanding that Trump either give in to their demands or else they will shut down the government. Republicans are terrified and scrambling to pass the Left's amnesty bill, even if it means overriding a Trump veto. Stop these spineless traitors now!

I have a hard time on this issue. On one hand they’re people and you’re measing with their lives. On the other hand is principle which is the crux of the matter. When amnesty was granted during the Reagan years it was to be a one time deal to fix the issue. Democrats don’t want the immigration issue to be fixed. They want illegals to have American babies. They want those babies to grow up to help destroy this country and turn it into a communist ****hole. Democrats will do anything and everything to protect the illegals because they know the offspring will show up to the polls to keep mom and dad from getting deported.
Tiberius Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Let's see, Executive branch: Republican Senate: Republican House: Republican Who is to blame for nothing getting done? Democrats?

B-Man Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 I guess we are done for now......................... Quote Donald J. TrumpVerified account @realDonaldTrump 4h4 hours ago DACA is probably dead because the Democrats don’t really want it, they just want to talk and take desperately needed money away from our Military.

Basically, we now live in a country where the executive can write laws...but only if they're Democrats.

He seemed lost at that point in the meeting and then saw the outside reaction after he left and did clean up by immediately tweeting about no DACA deal without a wall. It looks dead now anyways. Do the Democrats care about DACA? Some do and some don't as I don't like to generalize a characteristic about every Democrat in Congress. 5 hours ago, The_Dude said: Democrats aren’t powerless. keepthefaith Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Are 60 Senate votes required for bill that helps DACA folks, funds border security and revised immigration laws? If not then the R's just need to get it done but they probably can't get 50. They're almost as bad as D's on this one. D's don't want to solve immigration issues, budgetary issues or a few others. Without that they've got nothing to run on.

The DACA situation is not their fault. Trump is holding it hostage to get his stupid, stunt of a useless wall built which is nothing but throwing clubs to his base which doesn't know any better. You can start blaming the Dems again after the mid terms when they hopefully take the House back, maybe Senate, too.

The DACA issue is ENTIRELY the Democrats' fault, for trying to pretend that a memo from DHS was binding legislation. 1

No, pretending it had to be ended was what the problem is. The Pro-life zealots are pushing to get these poor kids thrown out of the country. Sickening people. Pretending they care about life. You pettifogging for them shameful. What's wrong with you?

Clearly there is a strong connection between the Federal Government budget and the DACA issue which is why dems want to tie it to the budget rather than unrelated issues of border security and immigration policy.
