The author missed out on a couple important things.

A) Search for the Franchise QB

B) Get some quality DT's

Drafting a QB is on the list.

10. Draft a quarterback

This is last on the list chronologically but should be the Bills' top priority this offseason. Regardless of whether the Bills bring back Tyrod Taylor, Brandon Beane has five picks in the first three rounds of the draft and needs to land a quarterback at some point. If Taylor is shown the door, the Bills will need a veteran quarterback as well.

The Bills have picks 21 and 22 in the first round, so Beane will either have to stay put and hope one of the top quarterbacks falls or make a move to go up the board and draft one. This will be one of the most pivotal drafts in recent memory for Buffalo.

Build the team from the lines out. Fortify the OL to open holes for Shady and protect whoever our next QB will be, add some DT's who can stuff the run and bring heat up the middle on the QB, and from there upgrade the LBs and WRs, and most importantly GET A FRANCHISE QB!!! TT will be just fine in Denver

Isn't DT one of the biggest needs, maybe only after QB, whether or not Kyle retires?

It most certainly is IMO and that's irrespective of whether Kyle retires or not.

I must be going blind.

Yeah.  It's kind of amazing.  We made the playoffs for the first time in 17 years and we don't have a lot to build on.

Congrats to McD for taking a roster with so many holes to the dance.  But it'll be a hard feat to replicate without a successful roster makeover.

It is awesome luck finally went our way and things fell into place, not trying to take anything away from McDermott though. At the same time, some of the holes were created by them for culture purposes.
