He is an integral part of our secondary. I liked what I saw from Leonard Johnson too, and would resign him to a cap friendly contract. Same with Deonte. If Humber and Brown would sign cap friendly deals, them as well. I hope Kyle plays one more year. He loves his teammates, and just got a taste of the playoffs. IMO he knows this team's arrow is pointing up, and would love to be a part of it. I would not be Gilliseed or Hoganed with Nick O'Leary. And Yarbrough showed some flashes. Outside of Gaines, we can improve almost every one of those free agents. Depth was not the 2017's strength. Beane freed up much cap. And the Bills player personal is top notch and deep(Gaines new Texans GM). I am anticipating many Jordan Poyer type signings, and some mid round draft gems. It is a deep draft class. And we have a plethora picks to maneuver up and/or down. This offseason will be quite fun. My Bills wish list- Sign Gaines improve depth up and down this roster an exciting backup RB(Nick Chubb?) a young QB to develop an experienced QB to mentor Pass Rushers(imagine this D with a pass rush. We need multiple badly) improvement at RG more speed at LB A talented WR a healthy Cordy Glenn. A healthy 2018 Look out NFL. No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills! We are back baby! njbuff Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I think the Bills will keep Gaines and Leonard Johnson and let the rest walk. if Kyle wants to come back it will be on a team friendly deal or he retires. That's about it.
reddogblitz Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 My prediction is if we don't re sign Kyle, the Seahawks will.

Maybe Kyle and Wright. Exclusive rights...O'Leary and Yarbrough. Point is, I expect another big year of roster turnover. Maybe Kyle?? Kyle is still the man, his play this year was the same as other Years through out his career.
CEN-CAL17 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) What is it fans saw of Leonard Johnson they want to keep him here as out Nickel CB / Backup #2? All I ever saw was he was always a step behind and never really In position. No thanks. Nickel Roby filed that spot better. Bring in someone new. Edited January 11, 2018 by 1ZAYDAY1
ghostwriter Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Kyle Williams, EJ Gaines and Nick O'Leary I'd love to have back. Kyle obviously means a lot to the city and the fans, a 1 year deal for Kyle would be great. EJ Gaines I'd like to see offered a 4 year deal to stay in Buffalo as long as both sides can come to the table and be happy. Nick O'Leary I still think can be developed into something really special. I've been a fan of his since he was a nobody. Excellent project we can develop with low cost and high reward.

Kyle is still the man, his play this year was the same as other Years through out his career. He is the man, but he's not the same player he was. And that's fine. But for a 34 yr old making $7.5, what's a reasonable number to bring him back? Will he be willing to take 50% less on a 1 yr deal?
SoCal Deek Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Yes, that's a long list of current roster players but with all the draft picks the Bills acquired it ends up being a numbers game. Throw in a few free agent acquisitions and don't think the decisions will be all that hard for the front office. Like every year the entire offseason will come down to three of four players on the hot seat.
Matt_In_NH Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Relieved Tolbert is on that list A lot of those are role players and I would be ok with some of them coming back. Obviously Gaines and Matthews would be good to keep but they wont be cheap. Thompson is worthy of a WR spot.

buffalobloodfloridahome Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I honestly like having Joe Webb stay on as special teams and it avoids us needing a 3rd string QB. Win Win Everybody saying Nick O'leary was a nobody obviously never watched Jameis Winston in college he was about as clutch as a TE could be and had allot to do with that National Championship. 1

Agree with all of this. Preston Brown is a dime a dozen LB. Great guy though.

Might just be a negotiating tactic but I did hear him say that if the Bills didn't re SIGn him he would still be a FA. So, well see what happens. Seahawks love to sign veteran studly defensive linemen. And Michael Bennet is a FA also (we should sign him AND Kyle). Edited January 11, 2018 by reddogblitz

Freddie's Dead Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 I posted this in Cap Casualties, but it belongs better here: Humber - Cheap depth Richard? NFW, our best OL by FAR, pay the man PB - No way we keep him at the number he'll want as NFL tackles leader Tolbert - Don't let the door hitya... KW? - NFW, our best DL by FAR, pay the man if he wants to play Shareece - Cheap depth Tate - We need a better PR/KR, bye Joe Webb - Cheap depth, ST'er? Leonard Johnson - Solid CB, keep him for the right price Thornton - GAN Taiwan Jones - GAN Shamarko Thomas - GAN Travaris Cadet - depends on health, if ankle healed, cheap depth, otherwise GAN Deonte Thompson - GAN, playoff game against Jax was a !@#$ing disaster EJ Gaines - Pyay thyat myan hyis myoney Seantrel Henderson - Cheap depth if healthy, otherwise GAN

We simply got no explosive plays back there this year. Our return game was mediocre and boring. You know it's bad when you're rooting for Tate to kneel just inside the goal line. As far as the list I'd like to keep Gaines, Johnson, Thompson, Cadet, Kyle (1 final yr), O'Leary. Humber & Brown are too slow for Sean's LB system. 1
