BADOLBILZ Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Yeah some of that USFL footage is super crisp....the production company Halcyon Days served as a type of NFL Films for the USFL.......and it is still popular for use in commercials because it looks like NFL stock footage but MUCH cheaper. Back in the late 90's I got a tape from the guy Mike that ran Halcyon Days of the game made famous by the SI Article....."The Greatest Game Nobody Saw" where Jim Kelly out-dueled Steve Young in the Colisseum in LA.....they had like 1,000 yards passing combined....and it is unreal high quality for VHS. A lot of coaches angles and some field level stuff. The guy who sent it created and narrates the USFL "30 for 30" with the Trump interview where he hilariously called the USFL "Small Potatoes".

The telecast stuff on the other hand is usually pretty poor quality but occasionally if you pass ESPN Classic at the right time they will be replaying a game.
Fadingpain Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Of note: there is a framed jersey to the side/behind the guy sitting in the chair. McBride #66. When we first see it it looks like it is maroon with white highlights and 2 curved white lines around the sleeves. When we see it again in shot 2 and then again in shot 3, the jersey changes to white with orange highlights and the curved stripes are gone! Wonder if the director of the commercial is some guy named "McBride" or something like that.
Dirtbag Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 this ad would be a lot better if the guy in the chair said, "dilly-dilly," then the other guy responds,"dilly-dilly," then mcbride retorts, "dilly-dilly," then jim looks into the camera and affirms, "dilly-dilly."
