BillsFan4 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 It sounds like Brian Gutekunst was actually the favorite for the Texans GM job until he took the GM job with the Packers

I'm concerned.
PIZ Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Seems odd that he would want to go back to the same team he left. He made a lateral move. I think it's doubtful that he made that move because of 1 guy. If I were him, I'd wait until the perfect job came up. He'll get more offers in the years to come.
ALF Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 On December 31, 2017, Smith announced that he was taking a leave of absence to be with his wife, who has breast cancer. On January 1, 2018, it was also reported that he would be gone for a year and that the Texans will hire a new general manager to take his place. However, Smith will retain his position as the team's Executive Vice President of Football Operations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Smith_(American_football_executive) If he is that good maybe a pay raise would keep him here.

And based on latest updates I have nothing has changed and it's pretty much done even though it's not announced yet. We all know the only reason you created a duplicate LAMP about Brian Gaine is because he once worked for the Dolphins.
