R. Rich Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think he'll be at RT this year. What do you think?
envirojeff Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I can't remember, Is he a natural Right or Left tackle? Jeff
JoeF Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think he uses Right Guard.... I just hope he is in the workout room in the offseason....
envirojeff Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 right 268322 He's been all over the line I couldn't remember. I think he would be a much better player if he returned to right. Jeff
Navy Chief Navy Pride Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think Kelly Holconb is a bright guy!
AKC Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I'm fairly sure the decision is still in the air at OBD at this moment. I'm also inclined to concede the LT/RT model is becoming far more amorphus in this age of flexible packages and line roles on the defensive side of the ball. The days of the best big athlete for the defense playing at the RDE position have changed enough that both tackles need to cover well laterally in pass protection and defensive overloads on running plays are as likely to happen on one side as the other. The bottom line in the NFL today is that short of a physical anomaly restricting play to one side or the other, a good OT should be able to man either spot.
Rico Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Right. It took him almost 2-1/2 years to play like a real NFL tackle, no sense in having him start all over again.
ndmanley Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think he'll be at RT this year. What do you think? 268289 I also think Willis McGahee will be our starter at HB.
Fixxxer Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 he played RT in College protecting a left QB. (I think it was Simms)
Britbillsfan Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 RT, we are already looking at least two changes on the O line and he is only just beginning to comne in to his own on the right.
IDBillzFan Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 he played RT in College protecting a left QB. (I think it was Simms) 268408 Mike Williams protected Phil Simms?
Fixxxer Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Mike Williams protected Phil Simms? 268457 Chris Simms, taken in the 3rd round of 2003 draft. I don't know if he's related to Phil.
IDBillzFan Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Chris Simms, taken in the 3rd round of 2003 draft. I don't know if he's related to Phil. 268466 It's his son, actually.
bill in Livonia Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I think he held down that position really well last year. I think he gets a bad rap from the guys on this board because of he was a high draft pick. It took him a while to catch up to the pro game but he has worked out of it and delivere some sweet pancakes through out the season.
