KW95 - JA17 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Upon watching both Wilcard games yesterday, what stuck out like a sore thumb to me was how both winning teams ( Rams and Falcons ) used a HEAVY dose of the running game in the second half to wear down their opponent. We keep hearing all the time how its now a passing league but yesterday was proof that come crunch time, a good running game can be effective in decimating the defence. Atlanta had an 8 minute drive coming out of halftime. Rams dominated the 3rd quarter in the Chiefs game and iced the game with a 14 yard run when KC knew the run was coming. Hard to believe that with a player like McCoy who doesn't bruise opponents and on a bad ankle will be able to do this. I believe in Miracles, Go Bills!
Heavy Kevi Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Here's a fun stat that supports your point: this year, out of the top 10 rushing teams, 9 of them made the playoffs (we were 6th) 1
K-9 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Pass to score, run to win. An old cliche, but one that often holds true.
KW95 - JA17 Posted January 7, 2018 Author Posted January 7, 2018 Chiefs totally stopped running up double digits
Bills757 Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 The team whose QB threw for less yards won yesterday in both games.

Just saying that throwing for a lot of yards isn’t a guarantee for winning. IMO, Dennison needs to come out swinging with plenty of QB designed runs, RPO’s and finally take advantage of his QB’s full skill set.
