No Wonder Rural America Is So Upset

Recommended Posts

They are poorer, undereducated, sicker and dying at an increasing rate while they see the urban areas grow, prosper and innovate. Read the whole article. Ya, but they got Trump. Or is it Trumped?

"About https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-divide-between-americas-prosperous-cities-and-struggling-small-townsin-20-charts-1514543401?mod=e2tw1 in 7 Americans lives in rural parts of the country—1,800 counties that sit outside any metropolitan area. A generation ago, most of these places had working economies, a strong social fabric and a way of life that drew a steady stream of urban migrants. Today, many are in crisis. Populations are aging, more working-age adults collect disability, and trends in teen pregnancy and divorce are diverging for the worse from metro areas. Deaths by suicide and in maternity are on the rise. Bank lending and business startups are falling behind. Here is the data that tells the story"

But but but, these people all vote Republican. Shouldn't they be living in Republican paradise instead of slowly dying of drugs, diabetes and debt?

Jesus Christ, do we really need another thread started by this imbicile

He has to condescend to rural America

Two things here.

1) Trump Administration is going to try and ethnically cleanse the country of two hundred thousand Salvadorens. This will not help the rural people that most likely appauld this insidious move.

2) Rick Perry at energy was rejected in his attempt to fix the market and make it more regulatorily profitable for coal burning over natural gas. The Republicans on the board rejected the move which wouldn't have help the coal mining regions too much anyway since mining coal doesn't require anywhere near as much labor as it use to.
