This seems about right for what Clements' contract will look like, and I think it's time we pulled the trigger before the CB market gets even more inflated. If you structure the contract properly, the cap hit for the first few years should be around $3-$5 million per, plenty reasonable for an elite corner (arguably the most consistent cover corner in the NFL last year). If his skills haven't deteriorated by year 3, you restructure and extend again; if not, you draft his replacement and cut him. Let's get this done.
