If we could land Rudolph or Mayfield I would be very happy.

Those two players are incredibly different. A team that wants Rudolph is likely uninterested in Mayfield. Radically different skillsets, personalities, etc.

Not after the Kelvin Benjamin trade, we gave them a 3rd. But your point still stands. We have 2 1sts and 2 2nds, and are the ONLY team with 2 1sts that will be looking to move around (Cleveland also has 2 1sts, but with the #1 overall they dont need to trade up).

Even at #21 and #25, those 2 picks alone should get us into the top 10 according to the point chart (for whatever that's worth), throw in one of those 2nds and maybe a 4th next year or something, and we should be able to move up pretty far without selling the farm.

Two 1's  a 2nd and a 4th  - you just sold the farm  - four quality players locked under rookie salary contracts for at least 4 years

You dont know that any/all of those 4 players wont bust either.

And with that trade all you lose out on from your default picks is a single 4th. You still get a 1 back, and still have a 2nd round pick this year. We don't miss any picks except that 4th. Worth it for a shot at a franchise QB, for a perennial loser that has never valued the QB position in its history.

And without a good QB, those 4 drafted players will be allowed to walk in FA since this team will be spinning it's wheels at 8-8, and it wont be worth paying them. The same cycle we've been stuck in for almost 20 years.

Time to break that cycle. Man up and make our move to get our QB. It's the only way McBeane takes this franchise to the next level.

But trading up for a single rookie QB is a guarantee no bust either?  Happens often and would kill this franchise  - the bird in the hand QB you must hate just put up 9 wins and 6 losses against a top schedule and raped of his top 3 targets

Your approach is what a 1 win team might do...not a team thats in the playoffs

It sounds like you havent been following the Bills for the past 30+ years. Not much to say other than completely disagree, and historical evidence is on my side. Dont have time to refute each one but you're wrong on every point.

Also, might want to look up with the word "rape" means. I dont think that fits in that context.

You are so right - the trading up for a young QB in Rd 1 JP Loseman was such a great move. Those 1st round QBs just never bust

You prove my own point for me. Thank you.

The Bills tried to trade up for Rothlisberger, but the Texans got cold feet and the Bills were NOT willing to up the ante and do what it took to get their guy.

Instead, the settled on using their 1st round pick on Lee Evans. And then they panicked and wasted picks moving back into the 1st to grab a 2nd -tier talent.

Had they just manned-up and invested in the original trade up, they would have landed Big Ben and re-written history for this franchise.

Big Ben would have been a minor trade up and a great move - giving up 2 1#s and a #2 and a #4 is a whole different ball game - thats a nuclear bomb to a salary cap being managed  - especially when what you already do have has produced a playoff team with no WRs and a very tough schedule  - and may also produce a playoff win !!

Our biggest weakness as a playoff team on Sunday is worry on our defensive line stopping the run and getting some pass rush  - you are looking to fix the wrong issue.

Agree to disagree, but all historical evidence is on my side. Go Bills!

Sidenote: #21 (800pts) and #25 (720pts) could get us as high as #7 (1500pts) according to the chart. Assuming you have a team willing to make a deal at that value, for whatever the chart is worth. But it gives a decent idea of about where we could end up.
