Lenigmusx Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I will be first to say I have not watched much USC football. That said Darnold looks indecisive, inaccurate and gun shy. OHio State is making him look far from ready from the pros. Josh Allen has a better arm and better pro football skill set from what I've seen. Quote
twoandfourteen Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Kid looks pretty bad. I would probably look bad too if I knew I was at risk for being drafted by the Cleveland Browns. 5 Quote
Lenigmusx Posted December 30, 2017 Author Posted December 30, 2017 Finally a play! 6:40 in the third quarter Quote
mikemac2001 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 3rd qtr 7 min mark that was a nice play Just now, Lenigmusx said: Finally a play! 6:40 in the third quarter He has had some nice passes. Had an awesome sideline pass but the pressure is intense Throws a nice 40 yard td ( no pi) then 4 man rush he gets no time Quote
Augie Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 He’s facing an NFL quality front 4 with a weak O-Line. PLEASE let him drop to us because of this mismatch!!! (It will never happen.) 4 Quote
DallasMac Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 (edited) Nobody would look good with the pressure he's been facing. O line has been bad. Not to mention the lack of running game. He's still thrown some nice balls. I'd take him without hesitation. Edited December 30, 2017 by DallasMac Quote

HansLanda Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Couldn't care less about his Oline or opposition. Look at his throwing motion. It takes a decade for him to get a pass off; and in doing so he telegraphs where it is going. His wind up needs to be completely retrained. Super hard to do, esp once you are a pro. Old habits die hard. 1 Quote

KD in CA Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 There's no doubt about his talent, but Darnold has looked up and down in the games I've seen. Personally I think he should take out a big ass insurance policy and go back to school for another year. Quote

I love him for a lot of reasons, but that is entirely correct. 1 minute ago, KD in CA said: There's no doubt about his talent, but Darnold has looked up and down in the games I've seen. I grew up in Wyoming and really wanted Allen to be good but I just don't see it. He's got a cannon and can move but the accuracy and touch aren't there. 2 minutes ago, KD in CA said: There's no doubt about his talent, but Darnold has looked up and down in the games I've seen. I have a feeling he will stay but it's just an opinion obviously. Quote
Lenigmusx Posted December 30, 2017 Author Posted December 30, 2017 (edited) Allen reminds me a ton of Elway. Maybe just to the eye but that is what I see. Edited December 30, 2017 by Lenigmusx Quote

Allen’s pure throwing and natural accuracy concern me greatly. Quote

Totally valid....But: you go to the pros now, you are going to be a top 5 pick with a world of expectations and lots of flaws on a crap team. You will get a high class rookie deal $$. Still, that is a lot to deal with as a 20 yr old. He doesn't - at all - seem like the second coming of peyton manning. Had a great Rose Bowl last year against a B10 team that sees different offenses. Teddy KGB Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I think Darnold is fine. They have fumbled and dropped a few. Arm talent and use of the whole field should translate. Quote
Jay_Fixit Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 He’s looked fine. Not his fault he snaps the football and he has 2 guys in his face every time. 1 Quote
