YoloinOhio Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Regardless of what happens in this game, still a lot of time left... you have to go back and watch what Baker Mayfield did vs this defense .... in Columbus ... when OSU actually had its all American corner .... and compare. 1
HansLanda Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 You can absolutely not package any picks to move up unless you get Rosen. If by some miracle he falls, take Allen. If not, draft defense with the first #1 and then Rudolph or walk away. This once glamorous QB class is a little iffy now by me.

PIZ Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 This is making me rethink Cousins. Last year's QBs look better than this years.

As soon as the pressures on you see who crumbles. I thought Ohio State would make him look like chopped liver.and they did.
DrDawkinstein Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Darnold should stay another year in college if all he was worried about was developing as a QB. Luckily for us and the Bills, he would be stupid to stay since his draft stock has no where to go but down, and he also risks injury. In order to have any type of semi-realistic shot at Mayfield or Rudolph (or even Allen) we need Darnold to leave school. Whether he's ready or not.
NewEraBills Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I want Vita Vae and Christian Wilkinson as our 1st two picks. That's all.

In my opinion, if the Bills number 1 goal is to get a top QB from this draft, then they are trading up. If you want a QB, and don't pick in the top 10, you have to trade up. You can't stand pat. In previous drafts, how many QBs were taken in the first round by a team that did not trade up? Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes, Wentz, Goff, Roethlisberger, .... I'm sure there are more. I think they go all in to get their QB in the draft and use FA to fill Dline and Oline gaps. Theyll hopefully still have aa 2nd for a LB. Was Big Ben a trade up? I don't thinke he was. We tried to trade up ahead of the Steelers but failed and they stood pat and grabbed him I thought.
Bill from NYC Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 If McCarron wins his grievance and is a UFA, I am in favor of signing him AND drafting a qb. My draft selection at this very early stage is Mayfield but this may change, and I wouldn't want to trade an excessive amount of picks to move up. Please, let's not give away the store ala Whaley!!!

This article says it's a bad idea to trade up for a QB. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/history-says-trading-up-for-a-first-round-quarterback-is-generally-a-terrible-idea/
K D Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 we need a veteran QB to start. the rookie will be waiting in the wings and hopefully won't have to play at all in 2018. because of that, you are obviously not trading away your entire draft to move up to get one of these guys. we are not rebuilding and starting from scratch so that would be counter-productive. 3 QB's will be off the board before we even pick. that brings us to the 2nd tier of QB's. based on his size and success in college, Mason Rudolph in the 2nd round makes a lot of sense. he will be the 4th or 5th QB off the board and i would take him over 2-3 of those guys anyhow. he provides the best value and those other guys are going to be projects too so go for the guy with the size and maturity.
TigerJ Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I think it could end up being Drew Locke with a veteran being signed earlier. I put down Lamar Jackson. I don't think Darnold or Rosen are practical at this point. Mayfield's off field antics are too much of a red flag for me, and I have too many questions about Mason Rudolph. I think Lamar Jackson to Desaun Watson is a better comparison than Lamar Jackson and Tyrod Taylor.

Lamar is your typical super athletic QB who has relied on his natural abilities up until now. It was just this season that he realized he needs to be able to read defenses, scan the field and go through his progressions to make it at the next level. Supremely talented and a tremendous athlete, but Lamar Jackson is NOT an NFL QB. Not even close. 1

DrDawkinstein Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 IMO, Jackson is a 3rd round pick. Just like Braxton Miller, and just like JT Barrett will be too.

He will go top 10 and some team will be very happy to have him.
TheBeaneBandit Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Jackson and Rudolph will both be 1st rounders besides the other 3. Bottom line is the Bills have to use one of their 1st rounders if they intend to draft a QB whether anyone likes it or not. They will not be able to wait till the 2nd round or after it just isn't happening.

More likely between 20-35 however he really should stay in school and hone his craft one more year and he will be a top 5 pick, but he wont
