Nextmanup Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 First couple episodes of Euphoria on HBO, Season 2, are now out. I LOVE this show--check it out if you haven't watched it. 1 Quote
Nextmanup Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Watched Episode 1 of the new season of "Ozark" last night. Enjoyed it and look forward to the new season, but I didn't realize how much I had forgotten about all the little details going on in the show. Took us the full hour to remember everything that was happening. Quote
stuvian Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Love you to death with Marcia Gay Harden Quote

I was falling asleep on the early episodes and actually stopped watching it at one point before going back to it a year later and binging it. Now that is a ringing endorsement! 😄 Quote
The Poojer Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 100 foot wave. About a guy who is a surfer, looking for the biggest wave. It's a pretty good watch. Learned about it on the Smartless podcast Quote
May Day 10 Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Finished the Ozark episodes last night. I have to say, the show has completely jumped the shark for me. The actions of people and authorities is way off the reservation, ludicrous, and any sort of immersion is lost. Ill watch the last 7 episodes to see how it wraps up, but this first 7 episodes were absurd. Quote
The Poojer Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 I love Ozark, but there is a lot of suspending of reality lately...plus i want to punch jonah in the head, several times 1 hour ago, May Day 10 said: Finished the Ozark episodes last night. But now we are at the point where leaders of the FBI bend to Wendy Byrd's will because she makes a mean face at them. 1 Quote
Just Jack Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Murderville on Netflix, came out last Thursday. Will Arnett is a grizzled detective and each episode has a guest actor. But the twist, the guest does not have a script and must improvise their lines, and figure out who was the murderer at the end of the episode. Quote
WhoTom Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 We watched the first two episodes of "Reacher" on Amazon Prime. I never read the books and never saw the movie with Tom Cruise, so I had no preconceived notions going in. It seems pretty good so far. Reacher is a retired military officer who travels around the country as sort of a vigilante. If you remember "Kung Fu" with David Carradine, it's similar. We've also been watching "1883" on Paramount+. If you like westerns, you'll like this. Quote
Canadian Bills Fan Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 New episodes of Wentworth are out. Its an amazing show 1 Quote
The Poojer Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 i tried with this one. i think i got 4 seasons in and couldn't suspend reality any more, despite Bea and Franky being total smoke shows! 1 hour ago, Canadian Bills Fan said: New episodes of Wentworth are out. Its an amazing show 1 Quote

Royale with Cheese Posted February 16, 2022 Posted February 16, 2022 (edited) I had no idea. Did you guys know this? "In 2010, Netflix acquired the rights to Breaking Bad, produced by Sony Pictures Television, after the show's third season, at a point where original broadcaster AMC had expressed the possibility of cancelling the show. Sony pushed Netflix to release Breaking Bad in time for the fourth season, which as a result, greatly expanded the show's audience on AMC due to new viewers binging on the Netflix past episodes, and doubling the viewership by the time of the fifth season. Breaking Bad is considered the first such show to have this "Netflix effect". - wiki Edited February 16, 2022 by Royale with Cheese 1 Quote

Foundation and its sequels are extremely complicated books and hard to translate to media. Finally got around to watching the first season of Foundation. It starts out as a pretty good sci-fi show. Very heady high concept stuff with a focus on character development and world building. Eventually it kind of struggles with staying in that lane and tries to into more main stream storytelling which I assume is to attempt to appeal to a broader audience. Overall I mostly enjoyed it though and it was renewed for a second season. I have no experience with the source material so I have no idea how faithful it is but based on what I've heard about the books I am going to guess it diverges quite a bit. Quote
