I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but Top Gear(the original series) and The Grand Tour are really entertaining shows.  I thought they were too gear-head for me, but every episode has me laughing quite a bit.  I did like the second version with Rutledge whatever his name is, but haven't watched the latest version with Matt Leblanc.

I started watching Top Gear with what Netflix here in Canada had and thought it was still pretty good with Matt Leblanc. Seems to be a little less talking about cars and more videos of them driving/testing them. Got the latest season on google play and loved when matt takes one of the other hosts out camping in the US in a giant ford truck and tells him they are going to hunt bigfoot (and gets annoyed everytime the other host refers to bigfoot as a giant ape or gorrilla)

Haven't caught The grand Tour yet, don't really want to get Amazon Prime just for that, was hoping Amazon would atleast release it on Blu Ray or something.

I love watching Gear-head type shows and like on Netflix the show Roadkill with some of the writers/editors of Hotrod and their other car/offroad magazine. Usually they were trying to complete some challenge they gave themselves involving budget and some kind of vehicle.

Watched Lost in Space up to episode 7/10

This show needs a science advisor. For a sci-fi show, the writers' understanding of physics is closer to looney tunes than reality.

Throw in the fact that a highly selective recruitment program managed to choose 100 idiots to start a new colony; including must needed professions like cello player and surfer; is too ridiculous to ignore.  Although, It would make sense to include only 1 doctor and 1 mechanic in your roster of 100 if the laws of Physics no longer apply in the post-apocalyptic future.

This is good to know cause I was thinking about starting this show but now may hold off

I spend alot of nights on my computer working so I usually have one monitor on netflix or some show/movie and will binge watch seasons of shows in the background. Right now I am about half way through Vice Principles w/ Danny McBride. Just finished season 3 of Ballers w/ Dwayne Johnson.

To be fair, the show lets you know in the first episode that they are not going to be restrained by real Science to tell a story.

Also, I'm pretty sure the writers play Minecraft, because there are different biomes (glacier, forest, desert) within a short walking distance of each other, and they transition about the same way as the video game.

I finally gave up trying to understand the show when one of the characters decide to ride a helium balloon, tied to a chair, into space.

Thank you! Just finished Bosch season 4 so needed this

Bosch is awesome.

Unofficial leak on season 5 is they are spinning off of Dahmer only it is a hetero female that just moved a little up the coast.  One of the witnesses is Internet prey that avoided certain death.  Rumor is that he will be played by Andy Dick.

As for season 4, the second best line of the season was:

"Pull up alongside the mayor Seargent."

It was only topped by the stare down that followed.

Just watched a great documentary on Showtime.."New Wave..Dare to Different" about WLIR and the New Wave/Punk/Alternative music in the early 80's and the effect this station had on music in the US. Thought it was very good, and for people of my age(55) will bring back a ton of memories.

I don't remember a Buffalo station playing these songs..maybe someone here can help me out. I distinctly remember seeing the Police at Uncle Sams or Stage One in high school, so before 1981, so some station must have been playing this music.

WZIR and WUWU were about the only places to hear 'New Wave' , progressive, or whatever you care to call it back in the 80s.  IIRC, most of the crew migrated to WUWU after WZIR changed the format, they weren't concurrent.  Also available was the eclectic CFNY 102.1 (The Spirit of Radio) out of Brampton.

CFNY...that was it. I knew when I posted this was a Candian station I used to listen to whilst home for the summers..that was it! Thank you I lived in the Falls then, so easy to get the signal.

!I don't remember those Buffalo stations you listed..getting old sucks!

The Night Manager on AMC/Amazon Prime

Just finished The Night Manager.  Very good.  Last episode caused a lot of anxiety waiting to see how it would sort out.  Must be a good sign.  Thanks for the tip.

Before that I went through the Frankenstein Chronicles.   First year very good, seemed a bit weaker the second year.   Haven't heard if they are going with a third season.

I seem to recall Oil of Dog originating on the University of Buffalo's campus radio station WBFO, then migrating to commercial radio but I don't recall which progressive station Gary took it to.  I just ran a Google search, and noted at oilofdog.com that the program spent time first at WZIR, then WUWU.

I highly recommend Netflix’s Tabula Rasa.  Belgian 9-part mini series. Good writing and acting. Wouldn’t be right to say anything about the plot.

I just finished watching this and I agree it is worth giving it a try if you don’t mind reading subtitles.

The plot twists are great, but I won’t give any spoilers.....watch and enjoy!

I finally got around to watching Stranger Things over the last two weeks.  That was an addictive two seasons.  They made some odd choices here and there, but still, very entertaining.

My favorite new show is Killing Eve on BBC America (all 8 episodes are On Demand).  Highly recommend.  Full of surprises, well-written, great characters and acting.

Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin.
